Would you respect K2 more if they just said 'well, actually guys we thought GGG could make 154 but it turns out he can't anymore'?

Genuine question btw, I ain't fishing or anything. I think that Golovkin would be well advised to take a CW if that is what is necessary to make the fight - but obviously it wouldn't be a smart move if it'd mean draining to the point of weakness. I think Golovkin beats Canelo handily at the MW limit and my belief was (and actually still is FWIW) that he still wins at a CW - even 155 - so I'm unsure why they wouldn't take it, even if merely to call Canelos bluff.
I wouldn't have anything to say if GGG flat out said he can't fight at 155; for whatever reason. Why won't he say that, why won't his fans?

The WBC should just stick Jacobs in the #2 spot so when the Ginger gets stripped GGG will have a decent opponent to fight for the title...

I wouldn't go below 157 if I'm GGG... The longer it drags on, Canelo won't be making 155 anyway....

this is a difficult gamble for ggg, if he waits then time will be on canelos side, the kid is getting better and has not reached his boxing and physical prime yet, on the other hand ggg isn't going to get better...

As for he only fights small guys that's BS Trout, Lara, Angulo, Kirkland are all massive JM's. All of which have fought above 154 at middleweight. Lara started his career as a Middleweight and is only a matter of time before he moves up to middleweight for the remainder of his career. Trout has fought his last 2-3 fights at middleweight. Kirkland walks around at 200lbs so does Angulo. All these guys cut massive amount of weight and re hydrate a ton just like Canelo. Canelo fought EVERY single fighter fans wanted him to and he had to agree to go down to a catchweight to defend his titles against Floyd. Yet GGG can't do it? Last thing I'll ever call Canelo is a chicken not when at age 25 he's fought the guys he's fought and at age GGG he's fought nothing but low class bums and if he would just agree to a catchweight weight he would get Canelo.

And you talking about Canelo fighting Khan who is small yet wasn't GGG trying to fight both Floyd and Manny who are both Smaller then Khan? See that's the problem here is GGG painted himself in the corner as a massive hypocrite. And if GGG wanted Canelo to dump the belt then why did he agree to a step aside? Canelo has a VOLUNTARY defense because GGG allowed it. And why did he agree to one with Cotto? I'll tell you why because the belt doesn't mean jack and GGG knows it. He wants the big money fight he don't care about the belt if he did he would of tried to get Cotto vacated and would of tried to get Canelo vacated. Floyd held the 154 belt for 2 years and NEVER defended it at 154 instead he defended it at 147. But now you care about the sanctity of the belt? Canelo, Cotto, Manny, Floyd are are bigger then any belt and they fight when and where they want. If you want to fight them it will be on their terms. And trust GGG knows it which is why that hypocrite and his fans backed him when he threw around the same demands saying I'm the A side Ward if you want to fight me agree to a catchweight of 164. GGG can't have it both ways.
You make a good argument BigDunny, I suppose we both have some valid points and I appreciate your time on the discussion.

Because there is no rule that says why he needs to say why he wants to fight at the full limit. Why doesn't puzzy canelo say why he wants 155?

As Hopkins, 39, celebrated with a somersault and a leap onto the ropes, De La Hoya pounded the mat in frustration, knowing that he had lost the fight that he said would define his career...

The victory doubtless gave Hopkins the respect he believed the boxing establishment denied him despite 18 successful defenses of his middleweight titles

Meanwhile, De La Hoya knew that despite winning eight titles in six weight classes since turning pro in 1992 and despite generating more pay-per-view business than any non heavyweight, this would be is most important fight.

What if Hopkins wouldn't have accepted that catch-weight? Yet at 39, he did! No one cared about the 18 defenses, it was the De La Hoya fight that brought him the recognition he deserved! This is what champions do!
So Hopkins biggest win at middleweight is against a blown up welter? And GGG needs to move up to 168 why?

As an aside, what is your fascination with having lots of money? Does it mean you've succeeded in life? Does it make you better than other people? Does being rich make you happy?

To me, that doesn't hold up, because Floyd went bankrupt once (and is probably going to go that way again), but we can probably agree that even if he didn't have a cent to his name he's been fairly successful. We could also probably extend this, to nurses who might not get paid a lot of money, but are probably quite content helping people. I'd also probably not say that whilst Bashar Al-Assad has millions in wealth, that he's a better person than Ghandi was. The richest man in the world was the Roman Marcus Crassus, who set houses on fire, bought them cheap, then put them out. I don't think he's a better person than even me, and I have nothing close to the amount of money he had.

As to being happy, Markus Persson developed a really popular video game called Minecraft which he sold to Microsoft for $1 billion. He's depressed, now, though, because he can't trust anyone, and his wife divorced him.

I don't know why I'm expecting any kind of intelligent reply from you, however, becoz u spek liek a basic muf.ucka dat failed high skool nd now werks in Wal-Mart.

Canelo ducks, GGG gets the belt and Canelo is seen as a coward while GGG adds another belt to his collection. Is that really a "win" for Canelo?

he said this before several times, even before the Kirkland fight, he said this is the weight I feel most comfortable at, and this is business so if anyone wants it they must fight at my weight, he even send a direct message to ggg back then, saying that he will fight ggg at 160 in the future but that if ggg wants it now they can fight at anytime but in his weight, all of these before he had any of the titles... if you ask me, defending the titles at a CW vs MWs is unfair, they shouldn't have to drop a single pound to fight for a title in their own division, but boxing is far from perfect and this the reality of it...
