I honestly think he doesn't need canelo as much as you guys think. If he fights canelo he'll probably get around 10-15 mil for one fight. It's not he's starving at 3-4 mil a fight...

If he unify the division he'll probably have a bigger fan base and probably be the second biggest draw in boxing and that fight with canelo later down the road will be a much bigger event like Pac Floyd.

I don't think he's making $3M-$4M a fight. And unifying won't grow his fanbase. Fans care about names, not belts. And regardless, I doubt very seriosly that whomever is financing his purses will continue to do so at the current rate with him fighting the caliber of opponents he's fighting.

GGG is fully within his right to challenge Canelo at 160lbs... if Canelo doesn't comply then he loses his belt as well as a lot of credibility; simple as that.

no way he is getting 10-15 mil vs canelo, but is not about the money you get for fighting canelo, is about the money and ppv status you get if you beat canelo... there is a difference on being a ppv fighter or being a regular hbo fighter, ggg can become a ppv fighter just like canelo is or he can continue as a network fighter, that is something ggg cant get with any title or any other fighter around his weight... plus you get to beat the man instead of getting vacated titles, and a lineal title on top of that...
if ggg doesn't fight canelo at 160 this year, I think he will reach an agreement to get the fight next year at 160, and that might be the best thing for him...

Wade is an IBF mandatory, not WBA. And they will strip the belt without a second thought (see Fury, Tyson).

And no, he should not give up the belt. That's downright idiotic.

I don't think K2/GGG necessarily have an issue with 155 catchweight demand, I suspect that they want Canelo stripped and used all those belts as leverage in negotiation.

Cotto was able to get more out of that negotiation than he would've without the WBC belt.
