Juan "El Gallo" Estrada declined the Gonzalez fight.

We are now hearing Estrada’s promoter saying they are fighting Nietes first as a tune up to get El Gallito ready for Gonzalez due to his past injury. That’s why they did not take the fight, they were afraid he was too rusty and to see if the injury has completely healed, but I don’t want to hear any more bull crap from them when Chocolatito knocks on his door again to headline a fight of their own(Gonzalez vs Estrada is PPV worthy on itself).Comment

I'm an Estrada fan and I can believe this. They're going to keep riding the fact that he gave "The #1 P4P" his biggest challenge for as long as possible. A steady diet of past prime champions and pinoy bums are on the menu for Estrada. Eventually one of those bums will catch him off guard and possibly lose and his hopes of Gonzalez losing steam to finally make the rematch will be crushed.Comment

Estrada-Nietes is a pretty good fight in itself. Never thought Estrada was anything special and was hoping Viloria would get the rematch because I think he'd win but whatever.I'm an Estrada fan and I can believe this. Gonzalez fighting the winner of Estrada-Nietes is bad ass, hopefully theyll get the later fight announced asap.Comment

Lol my cause? Let's go further into the situation... Who did Gonzalez claim he was fighting on March 5th? He claimed he was set to fight Segura and no mention of any offers to Estrada before or since he backtracked that claim. He then stated he would like to rematch Estrada in mid year but then he contradicted himself yet again claiming he wanted to move up to super fly during the summer, then step up to Cuadras in September and supposedly the WBC was in accordance with said plan. A few weeks later all those plans went out the window when he said he would love to go after Kono later his year.
So which one is it? Why didn't they mention Estrada before or after the Segura fight fell through? Why wasn't Estrada on the list of opponents when Hernandez and Arroyo were being "eyed"? Why is it now that Roman is locked down to return in April against Arroyo that this news is spread to the press? Seriously
. Circle jerk all you want but a fact remains, Roman's team is riddled with lies and contradictions.

jus messin with ya mano, good points as always.

There's some overreacting here. Gonzalez's side has said since late last year that Gallo wasn't happening until at least one more fight. Gallo's side has consistently said they see it for later in 2016.
Just enjoy Roman-Arroyo for now. It's a real fight. The rematch makes cents and I'd bet we see it by the summer or early fall.Comment
