I suspect (like most people) that Ward will win but it's at least going to be a test.
This is kind of like the Canelo V Floyd fight and hopefully Barrera will have a bright future if he learns from it. Hell! Maybe his size and skills will overcome Ward's ring rust.
Wouldn't surprise me a bit. I can't see any way this fight could be boring. Barrera will bring it. I like both fighters. It's a significant fight for both.

    May the best man win.

Dominic Wade. He's about the same level at MW as Barrera is at LHW.

        Wade is 18 0, Barrera 17 0.

Not even close, despite the record. Barrera is much better. I don't care what any organization says. I use my eyes.

This is a dangerous fight for Ward. Wade? Please...

Barrera was a hell of an amateur and is ranked #1 by the IBF, #8 by the WBC and #6 by the WBA, plus if you ever seen him (doubt it) the boy can fight. Not to mention this is Ward's first go fighting at the LHW limit. Just because YOU never heard of him doesn't make it a cherry pick. Most overused term in NSB.
            Wade is GGG's mandatory.

He has a top 10 ranking with the WBA, WBC and IBF.

Fightnews and Boxrec both rank Wade higher than Barrera, but Barrera is higher with ESPN.

Boxingscene and Ring don't rank either in their top 10

Both are more exciting than Ward, with Ward is a guaranteed nap.

And I don't care what you say, Wade and Barrera are on the same level in their respective divisions.

Wade is actually top 10 ranked by more rating orgs than Barrera.

If Ward really is P4P top 5, Barrera should be no more of a danger to him than Wade is for GGG.

You obviously don't have a lot of faith in Andre.

Wade is distinctly average and got a complete gift against an ancient Soliman in one of the biggest robberies of 2015

To make matters worse, Soliman had a bung knee and wasn't producing the crazy angles or awkwardness that he is general known for.

He simply outboxed him in a relatively orthodox fashion and Wade had no answers

I don't blame GGG for fighting him as he is the mandatory

I blame the IBF as he is in no way, shape or form qualified for this fight

This is a completely reasonable post. Clearly, GGG is due for this ****** mandatory, so let's get it out of the way and move on (the downer is he didn't do it earlier so he could get 3 fights in this year).

Barrera will be a good test for Ward, but that's due less to SB being a real threat and more because we want to make sure Ward is at the level we remember him at.

Let's get these meh fights out of the way and start moving on to the really good fights.
