because they want a belt and martin is well....boxing challenged would be the politically correct way to say it. they know martin will lose soon and they may not be able to get a belt as easily. if they do win a belt they can hype joshua as heavy weight champ and make even more money so this investment in paying martin big money now will pay them back ten fold.

Ever since winning the title he's been really keen on Joshua, similar to Badou Jack with Groves.

Martin obviously sees holes in Joshua's game but i'm not convinced he is the guy to exploit them.

Hearn should pay up. It'll be a PPV fight and it would do big numbers being marketed as "JOSHUA'S WORLD TITLE FIGHT"

There's enough money to give him £1 million. Which is close to $1.5 million. Good pay day for Martin and Hearn makes millions from it.

He would be dumb to let this chance go. It's Joshua's easiest way to a belt.

Not arguing just curious, AJ does 300k PPV alone in the UK? And I assume they would pay $2m to Martin because they are essentially buying a belt from a very beatable opponent in which they could make major major fights like Fury or Wilder and make that money back easily. So it's just a business move.

Joshua has this in his pocket if this fight occurs. Joshua by 9th round or 10th round TKO

The PPVs were like $10 doe, but yeah AJ is a fairly big deal in the UK.

i think he sees dollars in his pockets. i mean he probably knows he's not very good deep down. i don't think we have a broner situation here. martin simply doesn't know how to throw punches and for a boxer that's an important thing. aj is probably the biggest money fight for him besides wlad-fury who are busy so why not cash in/out? he would prob lose to breazele for a couple 100k. do the right thing and take the money! you won't improve yourself to a world class boxer in 3-4 months time.

Would like to have thought they wanted to build Joshua a bit more before a world title shot. 15 fights is not a lot, with not many of those fights going a lot of rounds, Hearn needs to think after this fight if he wins, he needs to be facing elite fighters.

True, no doubt he will get paid well vs Joshua
