  • Andre Ward is a lying coward

This guy won't even fight Kovalev, i bet anything

he's just using his name to stay relevant, if he was going to fight him he'd have done it already instead of fighting chumps and bein like "oh yeah imma fight him, one day, you'll see"

Got to give him some time. Only time will tell but first lets us see the Barrera fight.

HBO appear to be doing a poor job right now in regards to this fight but I expect it picks up momentum if the Aquacknis Chickenson fight don't happen with Kovalev this year, with the in house revenue I'd say the Aquacknis fight isn't really being seriously considered now anyway, too many sticking points in that fight.

I pretty sure he not gonna fight him, you hear kovalev saying he hopes and basically being nice to ward to not scare him into hiding. Truth is their is no actual contract that states after Ward's 2 tuneups he will be facing Kovalev.

What we know of Ward is he is very talented but lacks in the balls departments, when his career was left to him he chose every easy fight possible, he even sued his promoter to get out of his contract cause Dan Goosen wanted him to face bute etc and ward didnt want to.

I don't see Ward getting in the ring with Kovalev tbh.

then HBO (Lampley and Bhop) seem to be doing a good job stating "2016 or 2017, Kova vs Ward" is the fight "everyone wants to see.."

Or would HBO just be making up headlines and giving the green light for its commentators to hype up something that isn't going to happen? If it were more doubtful then perhaps they would use the Kova vs Stevenson can't happen due to "political reasons" on air via Lampley as they did.

I haven't heard anything from the late HBO broadcasts by Lampley stating "if Ward chooses to fight" Kovalev.

This is how we know HBO is going to make the fight happen.

Why would you think this fight is not going to happen. Ward has fought everybody. I seen some one bought up he didnt fight Bute you right he fought Chad Dawson instead. Then Froch destroyed Bute so there was no reason too fight after that. He went thru an issue with his promoter he is not the first fighter to so this is a business. He hasnt lost since he was 12 years old why would he be scared of Kovalev or any fighter. Especially when he has the style to give Kovalev problems.

We already knew from way back that the earliest date possible for the fight was in November.

How often does anyone move up and fight the very best in the weight class, it almost never happens...

Who did Crawford fight in his first fight at 140?

Who did Danny Garcia fight in his fight at 147?

Who did Nicholas Walters fight in his fight at 130?

I could go on and on.... I actually remember a few GGG fans justifying him going after Chavez at 168 with the notion that it's not fair for him to move up and fight the very best (Ward) in his fight which I actually agree with.

Bottom line this is an unsurprisingly pointless thread. Ward isn't doing anything cowardly. If he is then I guess boxing is full of cowards

Ward has been extremely disappointing for the last few years, but we gotta give him a chance to get acclimated to 175 before we accuse him of ducking. Barrera is a tough fight, he's undefeated and he's bigger than Ward. Hopefully the Kovalev fight happens at the end of the year.
