I think it takes a lot of wishful thinking to even consider the possibility of this fight happening this year. There's no way Canelo''s first fight at the full 160 lb limit happens right after fighting Amir Khan at 155. It's a clear indication of Golden Boy''s plan to milk the title and increase Canelo''s star power
the PPV wouldnt tank but it wouldnt bust 1 million this year..if both keep winning then the fight will be huge...plus it gives GGG time to get known more than by hard core fansComment

I agree GGG is wasting his time at 160. I would love to see him fight a 168 lber but the winner of Ward/Kov will be at 175.
And i wouldnt use the Ward/Kov fight as an example cause that one is just promised to us by HBO like Cotto/GGG was and now Canelo/GGG is. Ill wait to see if it happens firstComment

IDK...Maybe knocking out 21 middleweights in a row and beating 7 top 10 ranked middleweights in just 3 years with ease and style...Maybe being a unified champ by knocking out everyone in his path including a current champ and former champions...That and every other champion and contender in the 160 lb division is ducking him...Maybe it's his highly decorated amateur pedigree combined with his massive amounts of activity and skill...Maybe it's because he fights more than 1 time every two years against better fighters than Paul Smith Jr. and Edwin Rodriguez...Just maybe, though...Comment

Daniel Geale, former unified WBA and IBF titlist with 6 defenses and never been stopped or down in his career prior. Instead of naming names like casual ****tards, how about we compare skillsets and achievements of these fighters? How about we take into account the performances both GGG and Ward had during these fights? GGG knocked Geale out easy in 2 and half rounds, Ward went 12 ugly rounds with one dimensional, easy to hit Froch. GGG knocked Lemieux out in 8 rounds after schooling him in every round when Lemieux was on a 9 fight win streak, a current IBF champ, and had a better resume than Peter Quillin, whom a lot of people were say was GGG's biggest test at middleweight (because he was American and had power, that's literally it.) GGG knocked out Murray easily in 10 and a half rounds, battered him from pillar to post, when Murray was arguably undefeated. Murray beat Martinez in Argentina but clearly got robbed, he beat Sturms ass, so you could say he was the undefeated unofficial lineal middleweight champ. He also outweight GGG by 12 lbs on fight night and had 2 inches of height and reach on him. GGG still beat him up easily. You know Murray was quality when he moved a division after his loss to GGG and, IMO, beat Abraham, the number 1 ranked WBO champ at 168 who also happens to be Ward's 3rd best win. Imagine what GGG would have done to the Abraham Ward fought?Comment

Who cares if he's 25? He's not some young prospect he's been a pro for 10 years and has 48 fights. He's a vet at this point he's fought Mayweather, Cotto, Lara, Trout and so on. Tired of the lame excuses and equally tired of people defending a 155 pound made up weight class.Comment

My #2 is a tough one. I gotta give the nod to Mikkel Kessler.
BTW, keep it short. This is a very simple exercise.Comment

By Jake Donovan - At the risk of being a buzzkill, the plan leading up to this year's middleweight super fight not only pales in comparison to how we reached that point a year ago, but is a step in the wrong direction.
The quick and easy story line behind the two middleweight matchups leading to a hoped-for September showdown between Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez
