Probably made more money in fighting Lemieux due to the international rights.

What about the deal to fight at the end of this year? Ward's fighting Kovalev in a big PPV superfight. GGG's gonna be fighting some cab driver that one of the ABC boys deem a "mandatory."

You call that a super fight, I call it "let's see how the casuals fall for the sales pitch." Ward has never been on PPV and while his numbers are also decent on premium cable, we just saw Golovkin take a bloodbath in lack of sales. Kovalev for being the man at light heavy isn't exactly swimming in star power either. Let's not start hyping that fight until we actually see a promo for it, Kovalev has a hurt hand and Andre has a knack for injuries as of late. Golovkin is fighting who has to, I don't have an issue with that...do with fighters like garcia and quillin who've ducked their mando's though. Didn't have an issue with Kovalev vs Mohammedi either.

As a fight fan, a superfight is when you put two bonafide elites in the ring together. Ward-Kovalev is that, and then some. Not familiar with any of the stuff you're talking about.

Again you are looking at the sports only as you see it which I clearly asked you to step out and see the bigger picture. Pacquaio vs Floyd doing 4 million buys wasn't about elites it was about 6 years of gossip, rumors, accusations, and other aspects..you know gossip tmz type shhh..which is why people are now looking for the next two fighters to recreate that with..sadly it won't be kovalev - Ward. It's not convenient for you to know what i'm talking about because it does not help your argument, if it did you'd be singing a differnt tune. We've also argued that Ward has again done nothing in the past 4 years to classify him as still elite, let's please stop living in the past until he earns that title again.

So he either needs to bend over and take the fight under whatever stipulations Canelo wants for the sake of getting him in the ring. Or, he needs to go ahead and move up.

Its time for GGG to stop worrying about becoming a crossover star and start concentrating on getting the biggest fights that are truly available to him. If he doesn't get Canelo in Sept, which I don't think he will. He needs to go ahead and make his super middleweight debut. And he needs to seriously consider fighting the Ward-Kovalev winner at some point in 2017. That may not be ideal. And it certainly won't pay like a Canelo fight. But, its likely the only superfight that is genuinely makeable for him. He's 34 and time is ticking. He needs to start concentrating on securing his legacy as a great fighter beforw its too late.
I agree GGG is wasting his time at 160. I would love to see him fight a 168 lber but the winner of Ward/Kov will be at 175.

And i wouldnt use the Ward/Kov fight as an example cause that one is just promised to us by HBO like Cotto/GGG was and now Canelo/GGG is. Ill wait to see if it happens first
