This is a small pay per view. Nothing major. This is Canelo-Lara size so people need to cut the BS. When Canelo fought Lara and Angulo on Sho PPV they didn't cut HBO in even though HBO built up Canelo and also had featured Lara and Angulo. These same fan boys werent crying that HBO was getting the shaft then.

Stevenson should take the $ and fight Kovalev on HBO ppv then go back to PBC or Showtime after. Very simply. That is too bad if its true that someone on his team has a different agenda.

This fight would be badass hear in LA at Staples imo

What you just suggested is this......

..... that Team Stevenson STFU and just do whatever HBO wants.

I take it you have no management experience ?

But all that is jsut BS talks, stevenson is 39 years old, screaming 50/50 and that is what is being offered to him, sad that he is letting another mans plan (haymon) influcence and stop him for making his money and furthering his career. Used to be a point where stevenson was topdog now no one cares are even regards him as champion lol.
stevenson dont look 39 tho..thats the thing u can talk that all u want but he still ko'ing mf's spark out..and his age has nothing to do with the rights he signed over to haymon..haymon invested in him to grow..bc he knows he has some big fights at hw...not to let hbo do all the work and not with ppl taht he is on good terms with

furthermore give me more proof than "stevenson last fight wasnt on showtime" that showtime doesnt have options on him!

A gate of $4m is definitely a stretch, especially for a bout not in Montreal (since Kovalev can't really sell anywhere), but Main Events likely had to go with such rosy projections to make the numbers look stellar on the split.

The 300k PPV buys (@$60sd/$70hd is a bit steep for a price point) isn't a ridiculous projection, but an accurate prediction for the gate (for comparison's sake, Thurman-Guerrero + Broner opening [with the hype of PBC's debut] only did $1m at the gate; $2m for Kovalev-Stevenson would make more sense) takes $2m-$3m off of the table immediately, taking things down to $10m-$13m ($5m-$6.5m to each camp) before the promoters even take their own cut off of the pot..

Kovalev still doesn't draw anywhere in the US or Canada on his own; if Main Event's ducks the Stevenson fight, takes Kovalev to Russia (to a town I don't that anyone's ever heard of), and the fight does crap business, Kovalev/Main Events ****ed themselves. Kovalev's status as mandatory challenger goes up in smoke, Stevenson closes out the year with two massive fights in Montreal (two Canadians scrapping in Canada, and a rematch of an exciting fight with Fonfara will both do good business), and Kovalev can kiss 50/50 goodbye (let alone hope that Andre Ward doesn't beat him.

              1) there is absolutely no reason why that fight cannot be a shared broadcast

              2) if you " fans " support HBO for ****-blocking that fight, THEN THEY WILL DO IT AGAIN..... you do know that right?

If you thoughtless fanboy cvnts support HBO just because you like Kovalev more than Stevenson, THEN THEY WILL DO IT AGAIN.

They will burn down this sport if they can be king of the ashes, you do know that, right?

Why support/participate in, a network war that cannot possibly benefit the sport of boxing, and is ONLY about market-share and profit margins.

Why the fk would you do that ?

Oh right, because you don't give a fk about the sport either, and are only concerned with calling fighters names, blah blah blah.

                Except Haymon.
Showtime bet on Stevenson; whether there is a clandestine contract or simply a mutual understanding between the parties, Stevenson is backed by Showtime.

Relationships matter, especially in the way that Haymon seems to prefer to do business.

                    all that is irrelevant,

stevenson vs kovalev is gonna do the numebrs they gonna do regardless doesnt matter if showtime or hbo or both do it so wtf is your tlaking about.

you talking about career paths lmfao WHO THE FUCK CARES, we talking about Steveonson vs Kovalev and how the only reason its not happening is because of stevenson side doesnt want to play ball, kovalev team made all kinds of concessions already, team steveonson was consideringt he figth that they asked for an extension which was granted but ultimately said no HENCE why their is no fight.

Only reason thsi fight is not taking place is because Stevenson has turned it down, not once multiple times already.

sersiouly bro? no offense ijs thats an easy one
he got paid the highest paid contract with showtime and hbo kicked him off that network right away..lol..they cited that he made mismatches..but the ratings were good so that was bs..they wer mad that haymon wants to put on fights on both networks and ultimately his own series...
this whole converstaion pertaing to stevenson is sorted out easily if hbo start back allowing haymon to put on his fighters on his own cards on their network..

hbo tore the fence and now it is time to mend it..they need to start now for the sake up boxing fans everywhere..
