he won two belts with CW (cotto/marg) but I don't think he defended belts at catchweight. fought mosley and clottey at 147. he won the belt against Margs at CW but dropped it afterwards. and people did give him crap for that

i think i can give a pass for one catchweight, esp. if its your first fight at that weight. but once you win the title, you should fight/defend at the full weight

Because it wasn't a mandated title fight and both sides wanted the catchweight.

Margarito ended up in hospital and the damage he took almost ended his career, so that fight isn't a good advert for cutting a lot of weight to make a match.

I completely disagree with the stance of telling a fighter they have to come in below the weight of the belt they're fighting for. There should be some rule about this with the governing bodies.

This situation is utterly ridiculous.

Past greats must be rolling in their graves.
