GGG should stick to this stance no matter what. Canelo vacates, GGG fights for the vacant title, and will be a unified champ. Canelo has nowhere to go but up, so even if he vacates, the GGG's shadow will still be caste on him. He can't fight at 155 for ever, and the longer he waits, the worse for wear his body will be.

There has been nothing to avoid. Lara has made no move to fight GGG. None. It would be a supremely easy fight for GGG. No money in it for him but the usual paltry few million he makes. Tureano Johnson would have an easy time with Lara.Comment

Because a fight with Floyd would be worth ten times what he would make beating Canelo. And it would be fun to watch him destroy Floyd, who said he could beat Golovkin at 154.Last edited by Swatty; 01-29-2016, 08:29 AM.Comment

Personally, I don't have a problem with either side's stance. Canelo has never fought at the middleweight limit. Plus, he's the A-side. Fair or not, the A-side dictates negotiations. Canelo was dictated to by Floyd. Floyd was dictated to by Oscar. And the list goes on and on. The way boxing is today, you're gonna be dictated to at least once if you're gonna get a big money fight against a big money guy.
And from GGG's prospective, if he's genuinely motivated by unifying belts. Even though I think its totally pointless and a waste of time. But if that's his motivation, I have ZERO issues with him taking this approach. But if this is his stance, its time to move. Challenges await him north of 60.Comment

Floyd is retired, Manny Pacquiao is too small, Cotto lost to Canelo, so now the STAR is Canelo. Make the CW, and make your money. Canelo can afford to drop the belt, GGG can't afford to lose a chance at greatness. 5lbs. just ain't worth it!Comment
