The upside is that since it is indeed a mandatory defense, GGG has the right to decline a catchweight and send the fight to purse bid, where Canelo's options would be to fight at 160 or vacate the title.....

That is EXACTLY what Golovkin did to Ward.

Fk Golovkin, and fk his idiot fans.

    • I hope that Canelo lies to the WBC and to Golovkin.

The WBC, are lying/dishonest cvnts..... Team Hypekin, are lying/dishonest cvnts..... so, I hope that Canelo lies to both of them.

I hope that he promises to unify with Golovkin, but puts-it-off, puts-it-off, stringing him along, raking in those paydays by using that worthless POS title as bait.....

..... and then vacates, and then completely refuses to fight Golovkin at any weight/time.

Let Golovkin retire with NO paydays, and NO resume'..... which is EXACTLY what liars deserve..... NOTHING.

      • I agree with GGG on this, i like both fighters but its morally wrong to fight for the belt not in the same weight class as the division.
Canelo unfortunately is going to get beat up regardless, his style is made for GGG and hes just not fast enough. I think he knows the only way he can be faster is having less weight in the bout. I dont see him winning at 160 and hes way over his head. Gd win on cotto but hes overhyped and done at 160.

        • Riiiiiiiight...until they see the biggest offer they've ever seen sitting in front of them.

A Canelo fights makes them double or even triple of what they ever made.

They'll bend over for this fight, believe me. 155 it is.

and Tyson had beaten more champs than Douglas did. So whats your point?

you are obviously WAY to ****** to see the difference between a fight between 2 guys in the same division and 2 guys that are 2 divisions apart.

Not surprising, since its been obvious for some time that your brain just doesnt function properly......

Im not saying GGG is ducking but you can see why lots of ppl think he is. Why say who will fight anyone from 154 to 168 if you obviously dont want to.
Yes it is a big money fight BUT GGG is the MANDATORY which gives GGG more pull in the fight. Either Canelo accepts 160 or the belt automatically goes to GGG. Had GGG not become the mandatory then yes GGG would have no stroke and succumb to Canelos demands.

Do you really think the pro Mexican WBC will actually strip Canelo no matter who he does or doesn't fight? Think about it for a minute, it'll come to you. Yeah, no, not gonna happen

Yeah. Canelo will have to pay if he wants a catchweight.
