I just read through the WBC rules and I didn't see where there couldn't be a catchweight for the mandatory.

Can you please post the rule that states NO catchweights for mandatory fights?

there is no rule that expressly prohibits it, because fighters are free to agree on a catchweight if they want to. But a catchweight cannot be FORCED in a mandatory defense. If no deal is reached, when a fight goes to purse bid the weight is automatically set at the division limit.

you do know that there was NEVER an official offer of "164" to Ward, dont you? It was an offhanded comment from Loeffler to Rafael. It was never a legitimate offer.....

My problem with him is that he's going to England and 168 for Degale but Ward has to come down to 164 to fight him. B1tch move but then he cries when other fighters use their pull against him. The gig is up. Make 155 or kick rocks. Ofcourse it's not right but he ain't living right either so **** him.

Just stating the facts boy. Grow up. GGG is a hype job fed weak opponents and makes little with few fans and at 33 years old has been terrible mismanaged by that foreign outfit K2 which is small time in America. GGG needs an American promoter that knows boxing.

Canelo hasn't fought anybody close to who GGG fought. Best win is Cotto, laughable, Rosado would beat him, Lemieux would knock him out, Murray would manhandle him. Canelo has no real MW standing at all. It's why he's scared of Gennady Golovkin.

the fight was never going to happen...why set up your golden goose to take an L...ggg is a good fighter but he doesnt have enough to beat Ward....only chance is a one shot kayo...Ward is bigger, probably stronger physically, harder to hit, faster, better defense...only thing GGG has on ward is power and you have to land enough for that to even matter.....talk is cheap...they were never going after Ward...why fight the loser(Froch) when you can fight his daddy?

yeah man you tell em, **** Ward willing to go down to 160 to fight Mayweather but not willing to go down to 164 to fight Golovkin. me and you are on the same page here.
