Lara could possibly be in a similar position to Wade's if he actually decided to move up and stopped messing around with the likes of Rodriguez and Zaveck. Lara is on the same **** that Khan is on, constantly running his mouth and running around the ring when he fights a decent opponent. Lara would have more credibility if he had a #1 contender/mandatory position so GGG wouldn't be able to avoid him.
IBF gives Golovkin a mandatory and now Lara speaks!

I agree. In the same way you have lurked on this on this site for years hoping that any non black fighter would beat Mayweather or Ward.Comment

if canelo has 4 fights at 155 already, lara has 10 at 155 or higher...He hasn't even started the transition to 160 yet with a tune up fight and he's already calling out GGG?
I guess he called him out a few months ago too but he should really take some tune ups at the weight first.
Still, it's good for building/hyping the fight so nothing wrong with some tough talk now and then. Let's hope it happens this year at some point.Comment

Why not Lara? Did you see what they did to Fury? GGG not about to give up his belt for LaraComment

That's why I said "transition to".. As in, it would be a permanent move to the weight. Last time Lara fought above 154 was at 155 against Canelo in 2014. Now he's saying he wants to jump up all the way to 160 limit and face the best fighter in the division.
He needs to do it sensibly and take a few tune ups - one tune-up at 156, then another at 158, then maybe a 3rd at 160 before he fights GGG. That would be the right way to move up in weight to fight the best at the new weight.
Look what happen to JMM when he moved up to face Mayweather from 135, in just one fight he jumped to 147 and he was nowhere near his best, he was slow and sluggish. Same thing could happen to Lara if he jumps up to fight GGG in one fight.Last edited by FlatLine; 01-28-2016, 12:52 AM.Comment

Lara has had three title defenses since losing to Canelo. All three of his challengers were unranked garbage. Lara continues to be a cherry picking champion while calling out the best middleweight in the world. Jacobs has the same manager as Lara so why doesn't he call Jacobs out?????? If Lara beat Jacobs he would have a middleweight belt and GGG would have a logical reason to fight Lara. As of now GGG has no reason to waste his time knocking out Lara. GGG haters would just say he was picking on a smaller man. GGG is trying to fight Wade now. Wade is his top rated mandatory challenger. Wade is a 25 year old undefeated boxer with a 75% KO ratio. He is rated 10th in the world or much higher by everybody. He is a worthy challenger and it's a good fight for GGG. To say otherwise is just hateful nonsense.Comment
