No, Wilder is not perfect but he gets the job done. He's a tall and lanky guy. Guys built like him usually aren't the most coordinated. And people should give Szpilka more credit for what he did. He was an awkward southpaw with decent speed for a heavyweight. Awkward southpaws make everyone look bad.
Wilder has been dropped by sconiers and nichols

Fury has been dropped by cunningham and Pajkic

    so thats 2-2

    Also

Fury was never dropped or stopped in the amateurs

Wilder was brutally ktfo by a russian cruiserweight and dropped multiple times

          Agreed!

While most idiots on here think that fight proved that Wilder would beat Fury, which is laughable based on that performance, I actually think that performance summed up how easily Fury is likely to beat Wilder.

Bronze still has a puncher's chance though.

The sentiment regarding Wilder hasn't changed. I haven't seen an outpouring of posters claiming he can now beat Fury and Klitschko. Most don't even think he gets by Povetkin. Where is this argument coming from?

All those guys are paid to talk Wilder up.

People stop talking Szpilka. Bryant Jennings didnt struggle with him at all and Mike Mollo dropped him more than once

I think Wilder's combination of speed, athleticism, and punch power make him a difficult proposition to beat. He has a good jab too. He is a rough diamond, but he won't be easy to beat. I made a few observations from the last fight which are fair and objective:

                    - That was by far the best Szpilka I have seen, he was prepared with a good gameplan, young, hungry and was there to win. Make no mistake that kid has boxing ability and speed. I had him slightly up at the point of the stoppage.

                    - Wilder is never going to be a great fighter, he started boxing too late and he is learning on the job, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have ability and can't accomplish some good things.

                    - His power is for real, and it carries deep into a fight. That doesn't mean he is going to knock out or hurt every single opponent with every single clean shot.

                    - Wilder's chin whilst far from iron, is good enough to suffice at world level. That doesn't mean he won't get knocked out, if he gets hit with a silly shot against a puncher there is a distinct possibility that he will.

As to him looking bad in this fight? I think "bad" is not the right word, 'limited' is probably more apt. He is a limited fighter, but you have to take into account how many fights has he had where he could actually 'learn', where someone took him a few rounds. That is part of the problem, you are now seeing him learn in the spotlight of world heavyweight champ, because it is only recently that his opponents haven't been blown out in a few rounds. You could argue that is due to matchmaking and him getting fed bums, I wouldn't disagree with that, but I also think some of the guys he was matched with who his team probably thought could give him a few rounds got blown out of there. But it is what it is now, as I said he will have to learn on the job.

There is no Lennox Lewis out there, or someone of a truly high calibre. So what does Wilder have to be afraid of? I think him and Fury is an interesting fight, as is him and Povetkin, or even Klitschko. So lets look forward to these fights, I personally don't expect him to be out of his depth against those guys, he might not win, but he won't be embarrassed as none of those guys are killers.
