when I see people use "outside the ring" stuff as reasons they dislike Floyd, and then say they like Mike, it seems not believable.

I think a lot of the defense comes from the 8+ years of constant daily threads/comments on every internet article/youtube vid from the time the first negotiations between him n pac failed until 2015. there were threads daily, even when some of us tried to talk boxing about other names, his name came up, then the crack head, no balls, coward, ducker, woman beating, monkey, kool aid comments can only be posted so long before someone says something about it. You guys are like the villain but turn into the victim when called out. A lot of Floyd fans go overboard but ive been on this site for some years as well as boxing sites and I have to say the anti Floyd fans for a period of 8+ years went crazy on Floyd in every thread and made topics daily about him. while there are some fan boys some of us were fans of Floyd due to his skill and we can relate to him... we were called names for no reason for the sole purpose of appreciating his skill. I have personal experiences so a lot of the defense comes from those constant attacks! and now its only ****** blacks with no education who support him, do u think reading these things don't bother US at times? its very unnecessary but its how some people roll so.... Lets not leave that out of the equation.

tbh, the vast majority of threads I've seen of forums have been BY pro Floyd guys so obviously people are going comment at ridiculous comments being made by people.

I personally don't care who likes him or doesn't. I was a fan of his because of his ability.

However, I find it extremely irritating that his detractors repeatedly make thread after thread after thread about him on the same topics that have beaten to death, beaten back to life and then back to death again 1000 times over. His detractors even frequently mention his name in threads that have absolutely nothing to do with him. These posters are even more obsessed with Floyd than his fanboys, which is saying a lot.

At one point, the sheer number of Floyd threads had gotten so bad that the moderators actually gave up in enforcing the rules about making threads about him.

you do realize, floyd mayweather had detractors long before pacquiao became a rival right? Back when floyd was pacquiaos biggest fan, people on here didnt like him ducking margarito and said he became boring. How old are you, you seem like a hardcore floyd fan all you know is floyd and hate pacquiao, what do you do for a living to have such a low iq and mental state? I remember watching a replay of Floyd's like 3 or 4th fight and even at that point Floyd was making comments about how fights need a good guy and a villain and he has chosen the role of the villain.

Floyd played this role his entire career, did things to intentionally piss people off his whole career, reaped all the benefits of people wanting to see him lose and made hundreds of millions in the process. HE NEVER WANTED TO BE LIKED bc it benefitted him. Now that he's done with all of that, he wants to be loved.

Yet for some reason his fans are confused and need reasons why people don't like him.

Your answer was answered in your last sentence. Most Floyd fans are stuck on 15 years of age even that Larry guy who's what 40 and still post pictures of Floyd with the belts as if he was some teenager with a Man Crush
