Yup, after he changed Victor's outlook on life with the beating he handed him, I was a fan. Don't get me wrong, I was a massive Ortiz fan and was caught up on the hype. However, Chino made a name for himself that night and after nearly walking away from it all, he came back and beat down another hyped name in Broner. He also gave Floyd enough hell on their first scrap to land a second fight with him.

Happy for El Chino, hope he enjoys his retirement

Of course, any true fight fan should miss Maidana.

Absolutely, the kid fights his ass off in about everytime he steps in between the ropes. I've been watching boxing for 23 years and he's become one of my favorite fighter's. He beat the odds more than once and never quit which I loved. That bodyshot he took from Khan was brutal and he somehow made it up before the ref ended the count.
Also giving the number 1 fighter in the world his toughest match since Castillo is an impressive feat. With May and Pac gone I definitely could see him being the number 1 welter if he's the same in the Floyd fights or better, no one right now handles a power puncher with a jab and a nonstop engine to boot.

No, his desire to not fight anymore left me in acceptance that he is gone and I will focus on the fighters that want to fight. He was a fun fighter to watch and was a very effective brawler, a rare occurrence, I was a Maidana supporter since he upset Ortiz. But I do not miss those that don't want be around. If it was an injury, promotional issues, outside the ring accident, i'd say I miss him, like Paul Williams. But he is happy and doesn't want to fight anymore, so I don't miss him, but not in a hateful kind of way.

Maidana would murder Alexander and I could imagine you balling your eyes at the TV as Alexander gets TKO'd. Alexander doesn't have any power. He couldn't even hurt Khan but somehow he's such a big puncher that not even Maidana dared to attack him? Even though Maidana fought Ortiz with much more aggressiveness and Ortiz is bigger than Alexander AND a bigger puncher? Haha, I'm schooling you right now, just stop. Just admit you hate Floyd and don't want to give him any credit for beating Maidana. Therefore you want to diminish Maidana's improvements to say Floyd sucks. Get out of here clown.
Yeah he did. I asked a question. Your debating style and emotion suggest you are of an immature age. Alexander beat Maidana in 2012. He fought Soto Karass more than two years later when he was on the downslide. Clearly not the same fighter he was two years prior. Once again, we aren't talking about Floyd, Khan or Bradley. I am not even a Alexander guy. We are talking about Chino, and I mentioned how Alexander easily beat him. Chino is a likable boxer, has a ton of heart. He is somewhat limited though, and not all that good in my opinion. You are all over the place with your post.

Definitely. Maidana was a hell of a lot of fun to watch, gave us terrific FOTY candidates, and the way he busted up the Victor Ortiz and Adrien Broner bandwagons produced some of the best moments of those years. He also gave Mayweather the toughest fight of his comeback and probably the toughest since Castillo 1.

Yes by clinching him 119 times with no warning from he refs. A Chino who was not into boxing with no real trainer and on the verge of quitting.

                What a performance this was.....

People should stop making excuses for Maidana, Alexander just has his number, it's boxing...that happens. That video, which I've already seen is misleading as well, Maidana does his own holding as well because he's not comfortable on the inside.

Nobody told tough, rugged Maidana to be hurt by Alexander's punches.

I miss Maidana a lot. He was one of my favorites from when I first saw him when he KOed Ortiz. He was dead game and fearless and attacked with wild abandon. He had good speed and power in both fists and as far as I know was never in a bad fight. He really took the starch out of big talking Broner. He knocked the smile off Broner's face and sent him running for his dressing room without a word to anybody. That was the first time Broner ever shut the fuc up.
