If Garcia beats Guerrero Saturday what does it prove?

That he can beat another second rate guy currently at 147? A guy who has basically looked terrible in 3 straight fights... Garcia has already beaten guys superior in Khan,Peterson,Lucas(IMO)..
Now he moves up and takes fight after fight that mean nothing essentially.
When established names move up and continue to fight second rate opponents that shows where his team thinks he's at as a fighter..

I hope Guerrero has a little fight left in him and is not shot.. Would love to see the upset and listen to Danny's father cry like a bichhhhh...

It doesn't prove much, but you should realize that that wasn't the purpose of this fight.

It's simply there to get Danny more accustomed to the WW division. After this fight, he'll take on good challengers and champions. Believe me.

And keep banking on that upset, it will never happen.

I'm not banking on it. Guerrero has been a punching bag his last 3 fights now..
Fighting smaller guys at a higher weight doesn't get you accustomed IMO, it's gets you in trouble when you actually fight a guy like Brook or Porter or Thurman who are big and can punch.

Those fights will come. Guerrero and Garcia are the same size anyway.

The WBC says Khan is the immediate challenger to the winner of Garcia-Guerrero anyhow. So let's see if that happens first.

Not much unless it is a spectacular KO and the common fans jump on the bandwagon

Danny took his hard fights years ago. He's done with those until its time to cash out. Easy money against undersized and/or shot fighters for several years is about all you can expect. Listen to his dad. Look at who he fights. They don't even try to hide it. He is very limited, can't beat skilled boxers, and has gotten a few nice gifts over the years. Now its little or shot guys who will walk in a straight line into hooks.

It can only prove something negative if Guerrero has enough success or actually has a case for winning. There's really no positives that can come out of Garcia winning this fight. Not in the public eye, anyway.

I agree. It proves very little.

Guerrero's record at welterweight is 4-2, with the wins coming against Aydin, Berto, Kamegai, and Aaron Martinez. So it proves nothing really given that Guerrero has no significant wins at 147. Manner of victory might make some difference.
