All Showtime boxing content is down 50% or more from where it was the year prior when the cards were promoted by Golden Boy and before Haymon yanked his fighters off to PBC. The combination of losing a top notch promoter like Golden Boy and using 3rd rate promoters instead and taking all Showtimes talent and bouncing them around numerous other networks has crippled Showtime. Also all the negativity surrounding PBC has rubbed off on Showtime.

Wilder a year earlier pulled in 1.3mil viewer and now down less then half to 500k. Broner the year earlier was doing 1mil every time on showtime now in Oct does 500k. Jacobs vs Quillin does around 300K. Chavez was doing like 1.5mil on HBO now doing 600K on showtime. Geale vs Bute did less then 300K.
    lol

Showtime just had Wilder-Szpilka this past weekend, will have Frampton-Quigg/Santa Cruz-Martinez in February, will likely have Brook-Bizier/Khan fight doubleheader in March, Chavez Jr fighting Badou Jack in April, Deontay Wilder fighting Alexander Povetkin in June, Adrien Broner back on their channel before the Spring is out, and a slew of ShoBox cards, all before even getting to the Summer (Stevenson-Kovalev for this summer, on HBO, will hurt, but that's the game sometimes).

You add that Showtime is also the likely home for a Winter 2016 Fury-Wilder PPV, and it's obvious that you don't know what the **** you're talking about.

For all this talk about how great a promoter Golden Boy is, what have they actually done since leaving Showtime? gtfoh

I'm tuning in Saturday, there's going to be a strong crowd in attendance at the Staples Center on Saturday, and the viewers will decide what they want to see on Saturday night.

I simply hope that you don't choose to hide away in some hole somewhere when the numbers come out.

        • I, as did many others, watched it for free on Youtube. Showtime streamed it there.

All of those fights aren't going to SHO when Haymon is in bed with CBS, NBC, ESPN, FOX, and Spike. Stevenson-Kovalev also won't happen. No evidence Haymon will let Stevenson jump to the dark side for a PPV that will almost definitely flop.

I've said it all year PBC has all but destroyed the credibility of Showtime. Across the boards all their boxing fights since PBC are down about 50% or more. And it has not boosted any of the fighters who fought on PBC. Example Thurman drew big ratings the very first PBC show. So you would think it increased his popularity right? NOPE. His next fight in his hometown he fought in a empty arena drawing only 4k fans and it got terrible TV ratings. Jacobs and Quillin drew horrible ratings when they came back to Showtime from PBC. The negative impact that PBC has gotten has certainly rubbed off on Showtime.

These fighters would of been much better off staying on Showtime and building their fanbase.
I think at that time Wilder was more hyped. Right now he's been less impressive, which could be why the numbers have dropped. Also, this guy was an unknown.

                  • I cancelled my showtime when Haymon stuck in in their shorts last year and they had no good fights..

I have a streaming stick now and honestly I still haven't watched anything on either network recently.

Im just sick of nobody wanting to fight each other anymore.

Too many guys milking paper titles instead of unifying divisions and proving who's best. I guess if I got paid millions to fight lower level opponents I'd do the same thing.

                    • If they hadn't competed with the NFL, I think Wilder-Szpilka could have gotten 1M viewers. Wilder has avg. higher numbers than other PBC fighters. Granted he's also fought on NBC, but his fight with Stiverne did 1.24M on Showtime. Had they delayed this fight for like 2 more weeks It could have done even better numbers.

                      It was bad scheduling imo.
