There's a difference between a smaller fighter asking a bigger fighter to meet somewhere in the middle(this is why catchweights exist, [and BTW PAC gave up more pounds to Cotto, who only had to cut ~2 lbs from the 147 limit]), and Canelo asking the 160 Champ who is an older fighter and pretty much the same size as him to meet only 1 pound over 154 which Canelo can still make because he is younger and used to cutting all that weight.. while holding the "lineal" 160 belt.

Floyd forced Canelo into a catchweight despite the fact that he had already successfully fought twice at the full 154 limit and just as recent as the year before fought Cotto at the full limit. Yet why did Floyd make Canelo come down and put his titles on the line under the 154 limit? Because he was the A side and got to flex his muscles and get the fight at the weight that was to his advantage. Now Canelo is in that same spot and is doing the same the fight only happens at his weight not GGG's. And don't give me this crap about it's too much for GGG to go down to in weight not after last year he begged for fights against Floyd and Manny at 154 and said I can make that weight easy. But now when it's Canelo 1 pounder higher is too much for him? I CALL BS!! Canelo will make him eat his words or he gets no fight.

The real winner in all this is Conor McGregor. As it stands right now his fight with Anjos is leading the pack to get my ppv money.

I understand why, and I am not arguing..... but it looks like Golovkin will not be the only middleweight who has to come down to 155.

I think we need to get over the fact that Team Golovkin are full-of-****, and move on.

Canelo is not doing the best thing for boxing, although I do agree that gift-wrapping the title and handing it to Hypekin is not the best thing for boxing either.

What a pity that Golovkin cannot be a man of his word, and that Canelo cannot be more professional and have more integrity for the sport.

As I reported from ringside for Boxing Monthly: "As he gained momentum, Hopkins actually appeared faster than De La Hoya, and coming out for the ninth, the Executioner from Philadelphia looked as if he could keep going strong for many more rounds than the mere four that remained."

Hopkins was to box in another catchweights bout when, as light heavyweight champion, he agreed to meet leading middleweight Winky Wright at a weight of 170 pounds on July 7, 2007, at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Hopkins carried the weight far better than a soft-looking Wright and dominated the last four rounds to win a unanimous decision.

Golovkin is the one doing 97k. Smart move by Canelo and his team. It's just common logic and math.
