This fight will happen when Triple G is on the decline for sure... that's how boxing goes nowadays..nobody fights in their primes anymore UNLESS they are part of the same promotional outfit, it's a pure business at milking weak, big names... Floyd mastered the art of that through Al Haymon..

Canelo will fight Triple G when he's vulnerable that's it...nobody above the other guy in marketability is going fight another guy who can beat them... CAnelo fighting Lara only happened because it was a Golden Boy fight..Triple G will have to decline or join Golden Boy to make that fight happen...

Cotto was smaller and had lost and Golden Boy actually played the B-side for that fight..

Alvarez doesn't have to fight Golovkin now... or at all.
He may vacate the WBC belt in 2016 and, presumably, he has time to fight GGG until May 2017 -- as for The Ring strap.

In other words...."we don't want to fight GGG".

Of course Canelo should get the much bigger % of the purse as he's the much bigger star. 90/10 though? LOL. I guess Oscar wasn't serious when he said he wants to make the best and most competitive fights from here on out.

Oscar may very well want to put Canelo in front of Cotto or Floyd (?) again this September...

split 90-10 for Canelo typical mexican math

Canelo is the Star and should get 90% of the loot over GGG. Commies are not accepted in the USA or Mexico.

Well fcuk you Oscar. If you had your way you´d be making movies with Mack. If you are too much of a duck to let Canelo fight GGG just say it and drop the belt.

75/25 is fair if the fight is at 160, but if it has to be @ 155, then at least 65/35!

I guess the same would apply to a GGG/Cotto fight as well since Cotto's most successful ppv's have been against bigger names like Pac, Canelo and Floyd.

Lets not forget that despite GGG's first ppv doing 97k or 150k (whichever source you want to believe), it still did more than Cotto's first ppv outing that only did around 60k buys.

" it's more then he's ever made doe" "who else he gonna make that off doe"

Canelo is gonna get something like 70-30 or he's getting stripped when they turn down a purse bid. He wants to go out like a **** then whatever, he can drop the belt and run away.

And the fight Doctor is still a lame ass *****.
Apples to oranges. Both Pac and Floyd were doing million dollar PPV's against similar competition so for one guy to get a few hundred million and the other to get 40 was ridiculous. At the time that offer was made Floyd was doing bigger numbers but not that much bigger. This was in 2012 before Manny had lost to Bradley and Marquez and had just sold out Cowboy Stadium against Margacheato.
Canelo is a draw and is just getting started headlining his own PPV's. GGG headlined his own event at MSG and had a lot of buzz with his recent endorsements with apple etc.. and we all saw how that turned out.
There is a wide gap in what one fighter brings vs. another. 90/10 may be too far but not that far. Even if GGG took a $5 million flat fee (which I don't think will happen) that would be by far his biggest payday and in line with what he brings marketability wise.
