If they can do this fight at 147 people will be very interested.

Cotto cannot make 147 , too old to go back and been 10 pounds bigger for too long .

Have always wanted to see this fight but I think it's too much of a stretch for JMM now. At best he would be coming off two years of inactivity, as the smaller man, with a number of injuries. Would love it as a real fight but wouldn't want to see a Cotto-Martinez type of deal.

Marquez is a hall of a famer and a great mexican boxer in the history, but at no point he's beating Cotto right now, age, weight, bad knee, he's in for a brutal beating.

Of course Roach would think that. Marquez, for all his skill/experience, wouldn't stand much of a chance.

I hope JMM says no to this. No way should he be conceding a size advantage to Cotto. If Cotto wants to fight for big money, let him fight some legit JMW's like J-Rock.

Would love to see that fight. I actually see it as a 50/50 fight at this point and would lean towards J rock. But no way Cotto's fighting a dude that 99.9 percent of the general boxing fans have never heard of and a guy they couldn't generate big money with.

                  Poor J rock lol

Let me preface this by saying I hope this fight does not happen. That being said, if anyone deserves to fight a smaller fighter it's Miguel Cotto. The man has made a career of fighting larger fighters. Not to mention his last 5 fights were against fighters who were not only taller, had longer reaches, out weighed him, two of which might have been as heavy as 180lbs in the ring. In a boxing world where multiple fighters are getting away with making a career off smaller opponents being out weighed, Cotto should be the last fighter questioned for fighting a smaller man. I still like the Bradley fight. Since its highly unlikely Cotto will fight early 2016, if Bradley looks good against Pac, and Cotto wins his next fight, it could launch both of them into a fight in December. The question being, who does Cotto fight in the interim? Roc Nation will want a decent fighter if they have to fork over another 15 mil to Cotto. Someone mentioned Maidana. Knowing he already said he may move up in weight, its a good winnable scrap for Cotto. I also think it would excite boxing fans.
