I'm not so sure that Roy Jones would have beaten Jon 'Bones' Jones over 12. I'm just not sure.

Then you need to sober up and return to that question so you can be more certain, because I'd say that's an easy one.

The sad truth is that Holm is washed up, she's not exactly young anymore and didnt come into MMA young. She also had plenty of wars in boxing prior to her MMA career, yet she managed to become a world champion despite her age and lack of experience. Show me an MMA fighter who has done the same in boxing.

My point stands she has very few KO's in boxing but in almost all of her MMA victories she has won by KO. That's largely because of the quality of stand-up in MMA.

Watch the Aldo McGregor fight, Aldo caught McGregor as he was lunging in. Give Mayweather UFC gloves and put him in the same scenario against McGregor who do you think goes to sleep?
Well, in the hypothetical scenario of Boxer vs Mixed-Martial Artist, we're comparing one person's speciality to another person's, so it's fine to harp primarily on that. And if it didn't matter whether a boxer were particuarly good in other areas of fighting, why bring it up? That's literally the whole point of contention here... How well comparatively fighters from each sport would do if they stepped into the other's realm outside their own area of expertise.

Holm isn't "washed up" imo, just because you're not in your prime doesn't mean you're washed up. She has more KO's because she puts nearly everyone to sleep with head kicks, not her fists. And you seem to think Holm succeeding in MMA means it would be the case with most every boxer-turned-MMA fighter. The fact is, there's an extremely tiny sample of people who have tried both, so there isn't enough proof to make a general point with any real accuracy. Again, how many MMA cats have even tried boxing to begin with?

And Floyd would get hurt and hurt badly if he stepped in the octagon with Conor. Let's be real. McGregor has a strong chin, and you don't magically punch harder just because you're a trained boxer.

Seriously? Bones has way too much range. Roy wouldn't be able to get inside.

          Besides...Ya'll musta forgot.

That won't matter against RJJ or any adept skilled boxer.

For every trait or action there is a counter trait or counteraction.

You bring speed, I can take speed from you.

You bring power, I can take it from you.

You bring reach, I can take it from you.

You bring height, I take it from you.

Actually you do punch harder as a boxer. It's all the in physics and dynamics of the punch.

Other martial arts teach other forms of punching and striking and for the most part other forms are unreliable in true combat.

I took wing chun before I got involved in boxing and while I still appreciate wing chun and consider it one of the most effective forms of kung fu, if I'm in a fight i'm throwing boxing form educated punches not wing chun strikes.

I'm talking about the natural, "god given" power you're born with. Which is not in any way impacted by which sport you decide to compete in. Even learning how to throw a punch with just the right force and velocity to maximize its impact is something a lot of people can easily learn and grasp themselves.

The divide between professional boxers and the striking ability of MMA fighters isn't always as wide as you nerds think it is.

but your natural "God given" power can be improved upon by technique, nutrition, and training/exercise.

A boxer punches harder than an mma fighter generally, all things considered equal between them physically.

Then explain why Golovkin and Mayweather haven't been beaten?
