    You're speaking in absolutes.

Your first statement implies that Golovkin/Mayweather are impossible (Nobody has overcome Mayweather's defense, nobody has overcome Golovkin's power). Your second statement tries to explain how Golovkin/Mayweather are possible by exception.

    This is a contradiction.

So either (A) your initial statement is false and there are certain fighters who can't ever be overcome, or (B) your second statement is false and Golovkin/Mayweather are not exceptions, just yet to be overcome.

I'm willing to bet that if you dumb it down, you'll realize that (B) is the answer.

Point: I'm agreeing with you on your first statement as exactly the reason Jon "Bones" Jones definitely has a chance at beating Roy Jones because he would have a chance to overcome Roy's speed, especially post-Johnson. MMA has nothing to do with it, Bones was a decent enough striker to catch Jones.

I am not contradicting myself by saying two guys are complete fighters, and also saying for every action there is a counteraction.

Boxing has long been associated with chess, and that's largely why. Boxing is about who can make the most adjustments to what the other fighter is doing (assuming you can't stop them easily) and the more complete fighter usually ends up making more adjustments because he has more to work with, more tools in his toolbox, and usually (not always) has a very high ring IQ that allows him to focus under stress and continue to seek for adjustments in adversity.

When I say Mayweather and GGG are complete fighters, wizards, that means they are so good, so complete, that everytime you adjust to them they will adjust back and will always have the "final word" in the ring, thus the winning hand.

If we break down what they are doing, in singular events, sure, every punch has a counter punch, so on and so forth. That's a fact.

In poker a King is worth more than a Jack but that's card for card, the hand that surrounds the hard can make the Jack more powerful on the play.

When you say, they have yet to be overcome, I'd say that's a true statement. Is it impossible? No. Do I make it sound impossible? Of course, I am still a fan and want tp hype my guys and attack those who attack my fighter and get under haters skin - but I can still separate fandom from factual analysis, as I feel i've done a good job of here.

But I would also add that it's closer to impossible than "around the corner" because I still believe GGG and Floyd are one in a lifetime talents who are exceptions. Who won't lose. You don't have to agree, but I believe it. So if that's what you mean by criticizing my use of "exceptions" then I hold my stance firm. "A punchers chance" in boxing means the same as the football addage "any given sunday" which means on any given night either team/fighter can win, which is true statistically, however I do believe rare talents, fringe gods of the sport, are exceptions to that rule. I consider GGG and Floyd this caliber of fighter, fighters where common knowledge and logic don't apply, fighters who defy logic and science itself. I hold Fury in the same light.

Believe what you will. I remember when people said Tyson would never be beaten, Foreman was unstoppable and Ronda Rousey would retire undefeated. But hey

And hindsight is 20/20, so that doesn't say much.

All opinions and expectations can be disproven, until a fighter retires
