And one could say boxing is for people who are good at only one aspect of fighting and nothing else and want to remain within their strict comfort zone. Fact is,at least 95% of UFC fighters would defeat at least 95% of boxers in a real fight.

This isn't exactly news, but Tyson Fury says a lot of ****** ****.

There isn't one good example on either side really. I see Holm as more of a martial artists than a boxer since she started her combat sports career in kickboxing. There are a ton of examples of kickboxers with success in boxing. Muay Thai guys in smaller weight divisions to. And that goes along with the simple logic thats its easier to transition to using & defending with less weapons (feet & fists) vs using & defending with more weapons for boxings (just fists). Again all else being equal talent wise in their respective craft. Overall I've seen MMA guys have a better record in boxing than I see boxers have a better record in MMA.

For the life of me I don't get how people think a transition from boxing to MMA is easier than MMA to boxing. You got too many completely new concepts you gotta learn going into MMA while you just need to focus on improving one thing you already do by going from MMA to boxing.

It's easier for a boxer to cross over, all things equal, because his experience and knowledge in boxing is deeper than the mma fighters knowledge in any of the disciplines he practices, the fact that he has more than one is irrelevant if none of them are as honed and perfected as one single discipline for the boxer.
Yea but the problem lies in that a boxer once taken down is done unless you got a expert level sprawl. You need a wider array of skills in MMA than boxing. Sure you need deeper boxing knowledge to compete in boxing than a MMA guy is gonna have at the beginning, but its easier to focus on one thing you already do than to add a bunch of things you've never done. I just don't see how its harder to learn boxing than learn 4-5 totally new & different disciplines that you'll need to weave together offensively + defensively to be a fully functional martial artist.

A former Boxer can become a UFC champ. Same as a former Judoka, Wrestler, Kickboxer and Jiu Jitsu fighter can. It's been done before.

Boxers and their fans think FIGHTING consists of just throwing hands. What are you gonna do when I grab you and slam on you the floor. Then pound you out or choke u out?? You gonna say I'm not fighting fair? Or I'm not really fighting? Gotta just shoot the hands. Lol Idc about that. Get your ass up you little b1tch. Fury sounds ****** because his Boxing skills are very limited. That's first, second, about 65 percent of the guys in MMA are not even Boxing based fighters. Or kickboxing based for that matter. MMA doesn't consist of guys who just box. Lol I can't believe I even gotta explain this. You have guys and girls now that practice Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Wrestling then get into MMA.

What does this rant even mean? No one has said anything of the sort. Yes, there is more to mma than punches. And? That's not supporting one argument or the other really.

The UFC is doing a hell of a lot better than boxing's doing nowadays. One is horribly stagnant and the other is coming off of it's best year ever.

Boxing is falling further and further behind because of it's own incompetency and these ******s are just letting it happen.

He's a horrible example to use. He merely supports Tyson Fury's theory given how much of a bum he was in amateur boxing.

Not sure who lied to you bud, boxing is doing better than ever these days, mma is just staying afloat and had to resort to marketing a female star because they only have one legit draw.

mma fighters will start coming to boxing in droves, in hopes of making a career as a bum/club fighter, because that's where the money is.

And with PBC comes a new era, it's basically the UFC of boxing on PED's. (No offense Manny)

I hope you are not one of those who only like to talk but never been in an actual regular boxing fight or even worse never been in a boxing gym.

I think he's right to a degree, them in the UFC et al probably dont care about being boxers, but the 'boxing' they attempt is largely pathetic, most of them cant throw a proper jab and just swing for the fences

He's finally right about something. Boxing requires much more refined skill and therefore much more training. Boxers need about 10 years to compete at the highest levels. MMA fighters about two.
