Look man none of us are trainers maybe someone really knows there stuff on this site but hay. anything we say take with a grain of salt. many people on this site would get wooped by there woman, some know enough not to get their asses beat, and less really have a clue of how to fight in a technical trained way. Keep doing what you are doing but learn how to do it. -
I didnt care to read everyone elses post but from what i saw, your balance sucks yes, however you do have decent power, but when ever you throw a LONE LEFT CROSS you bring it back funny high and slow, your hands are way to low and you seem to have a tendency of moving your hands rather then your head, also your balance sucks badly because you dont use your back foot to perpal off when throwing, you look like youre leaning forward and throwing then using that back foot, didnt your trainer teach you proper technique or is he not a boxing trainer?
Overall you look ok i would say from what i saw your a c- fighter, but with more training you could atleast be a B fighterComment

You fall forward when throwing shots, your balance is very bad. Plus, you leave yourself open everytime you throw a shot, keep your hands up, and keep your left up when throwing a right, or vice versa, you're going to get hit alot like that, but if you got hands up, you'll stop most shots. Don't lean forward, stay planted and turn your hips when throwing punches, do the twist basically, nice power for having ****ty balance though, keep training.Comment

I don't want to be too critical here cuz you have only been doin' this for a few months, so here goes...
You "may" have the "potential" to have some power, but it isn't gonna do you any good in a boxing ring if you can't box.
Advice: Keep your hands up and learn a basic fighting stance that includes comfortable hand and feet positioning (feet aprox shoulder width apart).
Learn how to throw all of the basic punches from that stance while returning to a guarded position immediately after any attacks (as you are wide open most of the time).
Raise that heavybag in your gym (as you are training to fight a midgit), and get a double end bag, that will help you to understand Chi a lil better; that is where real power comes from, (to work a double end bag well requires all facets, speed, rotation, positioning, force etc...).
Heres a tip as well if you really want to knock some one out cold, don't try for one punch, I noticed you were getting tired very fast, in a fight that'll get you hurt, instead work on combinations, the best ko's I've watched (and many right in front of me not on tv), are the result of two or more well placed punches in a very short time. A knock-out is usually the result of the brain bouncin around inside your skull, (shake your head really fast in one direction, then do it in a few directions; you should feel first hand how a well timed combo is way more effective and will get you that awesome KO you are looking for much easier).
Also, when your trainer gets you some basic skills, please, start off as an amateur and get some experience against people at your skill level. It is the best way to learn. But before you fight, pick up that stamina, getting tired makes your hands heavy and it looks like you like to drop them already without any head movement of your own, not a good idea.
Best of luck to you kid, and props for having the balls to ask for advice; I agree with the guy who said most ppl on here couldn't beat their woman in a scrap, so ignore the bull****, it's good to get used to it cuz ppl yell at the ring and talk **** at fights too...
Here's a tip for a pro boxer let alone an amateur or beginner;
When you are in a fight, never, and I stress never, take your eyes off your opponent, whether you slip, or duck, or get hit, watch him like your ass depends on it, cuz it does. The punches that do the most damage are the ones you don't see...Last edited by Johnny Blayzz; 04-19-2006, 03:39 AM.Comment

You look sissy, my friend. Is this the first time you ever boxed??????Originally posted by ParodyHatton sounds sissy
There is nothing you are doing right, your technique is laughable. I find it hard to believe you've ever boxed before, after 2 months you should at least know how to stand and jab, your flailing around like you don't know squat.
IAMTHEGREATEST telling you that you have potential should be an indication that you have zero ability.
thanks for the amusement, I sent it to my friends and we all had a good laugh.Comment

That was abit odd. I mean, I guess if your trainer is excepting that as your style right off the bat. Then ok. My trainer would have kicked me out the door if he ever saw me throwing punches like that. I hope you learned a lot of the basics before you began doing that because that looks horrid for a real fight. My trainer always said, start off looking text book, then incorporate your own ****. Those that know the insides and out of the sport from a textbook point of view, can bend it to their own will. This in other words means, LEARN DEFENSE! Footwork obviously is a big thing if your gonna go swinging for the fences, though you can do what you did on a bag just as effective. Keep trying though, just work on things and above all else, make sure you get some sort of solid defense. As long as you got that, make your opponent tire himself out on your defense, then do what you did and it should work

regarding a manny training vidOriginally posted by Asian SensationYour balance is terrible, which is where the power comes from. You are a southpaw, but you square up when you finish your punches. Also, you don't bring your hands back into the proper position after you punch. You leave your hands out to long, that **** can get you killed. Just stick to straight up boxing and you'll be much better off. Trying to go out there and kill with every shot is not something I recommend for serious boxers.
