Yea of course it is. The good thing is it's become so prevalent that it's damaged the sport. Boxers are realizing this and tapping into that frustration with paying fans. Now a days we are starting to see a sentiment with boxers branding themselves as no smoke and mirrors, I'll fight anybody mentality. No ****** side shows and false ego's.
For instance I see this in guys like:
Errol Spence
Tim Bradley
Gennady Golovkin
Canelo Alvarez
Sergey Kovalev
Shawn Porter
They really can't get away with this con artist shtick selling crap to paying casuals anymore. With this media age, even casuals are a lot more aware of what's going on. I mean for instance this site. All this information and dirty laundry a fighter might have is all accessible online. Guys like Spence and Porter know it's just a h*ll of a lot easier not having an alter ego and simply just doing their jobs like professionals who take pride in their craft and legacy.
You look at Broner in recent months and his sort of falling out with Floyd and TMT. He is starting to realize Floyd's pathetic and 0 substance having business ethics. After Floyd took shots at Broner for fighting a "gimme fight" Broner lashed back saying "you're the one who taught me this". And from there he realized the ceiling TMT places on it's fighters because they will forever be under Floyd's shadow and kicking up checks to him.

I wasn't challenging the little twit on his statement. I figured there is a smidgen of truth to it statistically. Why go tit for tat.
This is how politicians (Governors) running for president spin the truth when they say that their state was the biggest job creator in the last 5 months (not 10, not 20, but 5), while their state is ranked the lowest in job creation overall.

People call Stevenson a ducker because he didn't like HBO's offer for the Kovalev fight. However Manny turned down the biggest garunteed purse in boxing twice yet somehow Floyd is the ducker. People cried for Broner to move up division after division yet it's cancerous for GGG to move up one division. Too many inconsistencies in boxing to take this sport seriously anymore. Same goes for NSB.

Nobody said anything about Mismatches being OK but who are you and who am I to tell a fighter what he should or shouldn't make? You not the one getting hit and taking punishment.
Bottom Line, get as much as you can every time because any fight can be your very last, that is how brutal this sport is.

You were very concerned with the health and well being of elite boxers who are supposed to fight equally elite opposition, but apparently don't have to do so unless they're being properly compensated for it.
What about the little guy? The B and C level opponent who takes the brunt of their punishment while they avoid the guy who they're supposed to face.
