Why are so many pure boxers or former boxers picking Byrd over Wlad?

This after constantly demeaning and degrading Wladimir? He even teased Wladimir following the Brewster loss saying that he is the only Olympic Gold medalist that would never win the heavyweight championship. Its just truth, Lennox has a sour taste in his mouth with the Klitschko's.

Nah, thats simply not true. Wladimir has been much more impressive as of late than has Byrd. Byrd hasn't looked impressive since he won the title against Holyfield. Wladimir's style just simply dictates for another dominant Klitschko performance.

i think ll may have also had a "sour taste" in that wladimir and vitali were basically the only heavyweights that posed a threat to him. ll's record is a bit more accomplished than vitali's, but in terms of being the fighters that they are, i consider them equal.

you shouldve heard Roys argument for why Toney would beat Vitali. It was very weak.
i did. that **** was pathetic. it goes to show you that even accomplished boxers may not have as good an insight as many may think.

            lol, that's laughable.

Simply because you've never seen Wlad fight outside of his losses to Brewster and Sanders.

Byrd is much more well-rounded, better defensively, and has a chin, 3 good reasons to rate him over Vladimir.....

wk's got a chin. that's not the problem. it's the way he deals with an extremely confident puncher who keeps the attacking pressure on for a while. and i don't think that was the prob in the brewster fight - remember brewster tried to jump on wk with the assumptions that he'd go down upon the first flush punch. it didn't happen. wk has got a slightly better defense now, although i'd like to see better improvements being made.

byrd, is better at defense, naturally. he's a small guy who relies on it to help him get in position to punch whereas wladimir is more used to using his reach combined with thunderous punches.

I missed the first fight between them. Was it a close fight?

Among them are Roy Jones Jr., Floyd Mayweather Jr., and Lennox Lewis. Now here's where the serious part comes in. Do they want Byrd to win or do they truly think he will? I wouldn't bet 10 bucks on Byrd to win this fight, but these guys think he's going to win. Call it racism or whatever you want, but I gotta know why you think they're picking Byrd.
where did lewis predict byrd to win? I heard him on the mayweather fight say he thinks byrd will give him trouble but didnt actually say he thought byrd would win

hell no. byrd won 2 rounds at most, got knocked down twice, and had both eyes shut while his dad was ready to throw in the towel in the 8th or 9th round on.
