    He's unorthodox

High work rate and stamina(which gives him the late rounds)

    He adapted well

    Fast hands and feet

They are on par in attributes but I question Wards chin and stamina. In fact the only guy i think beats Calzaghe at 168 is Roy Jones Jr.

here's another one where its calzaghe getting punched but they still stop it in his favor. that is "power"

this one's for all the people who say he only slapped later on in his career after hurting his hands.

Danm tremendous amount of power. I'm now convinced he would have stopped Froch

Ward maintains distance, picks off Joe's slaps and counters him all night landing flush shots that most likely drop Calzaghe.
All of those videos cut out the bits where they were knocked on the floor 20 seconds prior.

Ward doesn't have a record of knocking out top opponents.

He doesn't throw enough punches and on compubox Calzaghe would register more hits.

Most of those stoppages were terrible, especially his fight with Manfredo. Calzaghe made a career of having his missed punches counted as landed punches, that video proves it. It went hand in hand with his high work rate, getting credit where he wasn't landing such as his fight with Hopkins.

Calzaghe got dropped by Hopkins and RJJ, I'm sure Ward could do the same as he lands some of the cleanest shots in boxing. Don't underestimate Ward's power either, it's not that bad, he just fights quality competition. Joe was a good fighter, but just not on Ward's level.

The Manfredo stoppage was ******. That wasn't in the highlight reel posted. Those other stoppages the fighter had been on the floor at least once moments earlier.

As I said all this stuff did the rounds ahead of his fights.

It is a 50/50 with Ward.

Calzaghe would out land him, but because Ward won't leave home he may get the nod.

Actually he is one us UK fans think is on PEDs. Any fighter who is funny about coming here that is the instant presumption.

                • Close fight. I give Calzaghe the edge on his workrate. Its too bad Joe wasn't a few years younger. The talent around 168 and 175 really jumped a few years after he retired.

Considering how well Hopkins fought after their fight I consider that a great win. The Jones fight on the other hand is no better than beating Manfredo. And Roy actually knocked.him down.

                  • Calzaghe the clear winner. Calzaghe would also easily defeat Kovalev for that matter.

That I highly doubt. In fact, I think that Kovalev's style looks like it was specifically designed against someone like Calzaghe. High workrate means that Joe would be open too much. This spells trouble. Out-landing would not do you much good if you're frequently on the canvas. Kovalev is not only BIG puncher (KD people with a jab), he is also very precise puncher.
