Yea you're correct. But Arum still shut that down without even entertaining it.

HBO mentioned the winner facing Uchiyama on the live broadcast so you obviously don't know what you're talking about.

Most of the best boxers are called duckers by some fans and are supposed to be ducking someone. Being called a ducker could be considered a complement. Only good, important boxers get to be called duckers even if they aren't ducking anybody. Nobody cares who average boxers fight. Mayweather was constantly called a ducker and it never seemed to bother him. Sometimes the boxer being labeled a ducker is ducking another boxer but usually they aren't ducking anybody.

When it comes to media manipulation PBC is horrible.
I would think/hope Uchiyama would know that a fight with Sosa isn't on the level of a Walters fight in every way. So idk how much Arum can really do in that regard. At the very least I think he'd wanna see what his options are more that he wouldn't just jump to fight a guy who got a horribly judged draw over the guy he wants to fight.

Obviously agree with the bolded. I do tend to think due to the grey area Haymon works within with being the money man/defacto promoter + not trying to violate the Muhammad Ali Act there is a thin line PBC must walk right now with appearances, with these $300M worth of lawsuits still active & just in general.

And maybe walking that line right now means less radio static than you'd ideally wanna have in the future. I think there is some value in having all your competitor only being able to speculate on things vs knowing your plans.

Plus if you look at how the UFC operates, which is the most direct comparison to how PBC might operate once it is what its attempting to become, they just sorta throw fights out there at random like PBC seems to do now. There is no talk about anything or little discussion at best. Its just Dec. 30 & DeGale vs Chavez Jr isn't happening & there is no reason we think it will be happening & then tomorrow its Dec. 31 & maybe DeGale vs Chavez Jr gets announced for March 26 at MGM Grand & tickets will start @ $80.

They mentioned it because Bob had mentioned it two days before the fight. All I'm asking for is confirmation that Walters is still signed with TR and that Uchiyama's management confirmed they'd made a deal with Arum.

Of course he did. Right or wrong, everyone knew it was a non-starter. No way he allows Pac-Broner without options on Broner, and no way Haymon gives up those options. It was ******ed for Koncz to even go there.......

Margarito was way taller and had more reach than Gatti. Also Gatti had like 4 loses when he fought Mayweather. You can't compare both situations.

This. Whether you think this is some not-so-ellaborate grand scheme of Arum's or not...why shouldn't this fight happen? Uchiyama isn't a Top Rank fighter, this fight can happen with a Top Rank contract or a Haymon contract. I think Walters will go where the most money is, I don't think he goes one route or the other because it avoids a Uchiyama fight, and HBO/TR are on record with voicing that they want this fight so that's more incentive for Walters to bargain with.
