When Will Wilder Fight Somebody With a Pulse!?

Molina was a terrible defence, but Duhaupas (Dunlap lol) was a pretty solid fighter who'd given Charr and Teper very close fights, beating Charr and losing narrowly to Teper. He was on a similar level to someone like Christian Hammer, IMO, a decent challenge if you weren't on your game but not someone to pose a major threat otherwise.Oh yea, I mean that's when he started though, with Scott IMO. Everyone after him were levels above opposition wise. So Scott, Stiverne, Molina, Dunlap and Szpilka.
IMO, HW isn't that deep yet, but they now have talent rising in the division to get excited about.
Molina/Dunlap aren't outstanding, but compared to Wilder's early comp pre-Scott, they'd most likely smash them
Like some of them were 40 year old retired fighters or, IIRC, Civic teachers and bread makers... or Brick Layer.Comment

Stiverne for sure had a pulse. And I think he's done what a lot of young title holders or title holders that had a suspect road to a title do in fighting lesser viewed for a title holder opposition, but still better opposition than he'd fought previously to get seasoned while a title holder if you will.Comment

The Stiverne fight was the first time I was really impressed with Wilder. I'd picked Stiverne to win and considered Wilder to be an uneducated brawler, but he boxed beautifully and showed great understanding of angles and distancing. It was masterful the way he shortened up his right to break through Stiverne's guard, then came over the top to catch him behind the gloves. Jab was on point too.Stiverne for sure had a pulse. Wilder's regressed a little since then, but I get the feeling he's a fighter who fights to the level of his competition, so I have no doubt we'll see the best of him when/if he fights Povetkin.Comment

Tend to agree off of his title winning performance. I think how he does vs Povetkin will prove or disprove that theory cuz Povetkin will for sure be his best opponent & the Wilder who fought Molina would have a bad night vs Povetkin.Comment

I just hope that it's a unification bout when it happens.
I don't give Wilder that much of a chance either, but stylistically it's a great fight, and the Wilder fanbois need to see that beating in order to admit the truth.Comment
