Middleweight = 155-160.

160lbs is just the limit. 154 is the limit to JMW, Canelo has been over the JMW limit since Mayweather in 2013.

Canelo also has a middleweight belt.

Cinci I have no issue with canelo fighting at 155 if he wants to....that's his prerogative but the claim to holding onto a middlweight belt and not defending it as a middlweight that's what I have an issue with ....it don't matter if it's a low ranked middlweight or a golovkin...160 is the title and he should defend that title nothing to do with A side or B side, there trying to change the fundamentals of boxing in terms of titles and weights and in my eyes that's not right...I think the fool is actually the person who's defending a so called champion of a division who is refusing to accept his duties as that divisions champion, there's nothing great about a fighter who is contemplating a defence against a shopworn rosado but won't face his mandatory...there's a word for that it begins with c and ends in d ...but hey if you think it's ok for a champion to bend the rules so he can dodge his obligations as a champ...crack on

The fight should be contested at the Middleweight limit of 160
not at 155. Yes, we all know that Canelo is a Jr. Middleweight
and has fought at that weight class through out his pro career
however, realistically who's out there for him to fight at 154 he
can't fight Lara, Charlo, Martirosyan, Ishe Smith all of those are
Haymon fighters and he wont work with Golden Boy Promotions.
It would be in his best interested to move up in weight at fight
at 160 the Middleweight division and defend his crown give him
some fights against a Matt Korobov, Tureano Johnson, or Jorge
Sebastian Heiland a decent Middleweight ranked in the top 20
and see how he does fight in that weight class. De La Hoya did
an interview for an HBO boxing show and he mentioned that he
isn't going to start negotiations till the end of 2016 so, it might
happen May 2017 around Cinco De Mayo if all goes well til then,
there are plenty of other fights that can be made. He's going to
have to fight GGG sooner or later he's the mandatory challenger
for the WBC World Middleweight Championship.

ggg keeps taking step aside money and allowing all this to happen. it is what it is tho the belt orgs did this to themselves theres a reason belts are not taken as serious as they used to be and no one made ggg sign the agreement they had

Look I can't argue with the fact triple GGG did take the step aside fee but we all know he would never have got the chance with cotto.....and it literally would have been a slaughter if cotto was forced to fight golovkin...yeah your right we are where we are now...but we all know canelo is on borrowed time and it's just delaying the inevitable til GOLOVKIN dismantles canelo in brutal fashion, canelo just don't have the tools to **** with Golovkin and he certainly don't have the movement to keep Golovkin off him ala Ray leonard when he faced hagler...but we will sure find out in 2016 as HBO are behind golovkin jst as much as canelo and meeting between those 2 is 100 percent gonna happen next year , like on death row you can get a stay of execution but you can't avoid the outcome...we gonna see some massive fights in 2016 and canelo vs golovkin is top of the tree ...I'm patient
