GGG is definitely "the man" at MW though. I personally think Kovalev is the man at LHW but there's a couple of fighters there which are stronger competition for him than GGG has at MW.

Either way, GGG has the hype because he's a bit more appealing to the general public with his nice smiling humble "good boy" persona that takes over from Pacquiao. Kovalev is a bit more "mean" and cold from the outside, although i actually think he has a lot of charisma but doesn't get much chance to show it.

Right now you would have to say in terms of boxing alone, Kovalev should be ranked higher p4p, but as i say, it's just GGG's division is a little weaker at the top of the division so it's easier to be "the man" and gives off the illusion as the more dominant guy.

    Pretty much said it all

not only did Krusher beat BHop....he took him down a dark alley and abused my old head...that **** almost made me cry ...I didn't watch another fight for a month after that....and that's a long time for me because I watch fights damn near every day or every chance I get....Krusher is a mean sadistic mutha****a....I love that ****

Lil G is all smiles and Good Boy this and Good Boy that...FOH....we already seen Pac wear that hat...dudes hype him because of that KO streak...but if you examine the **** properly, you'll notice his victims were worthless souls

Agreed with this beech 100%, his resume alone made Kov case. He too was avoided but guess what? He still has loaded of good fighters on his resume. His resume isn't just about hyping.

I think Kovalev is better. He's certainly proven it against better competition, and been just a dominant as Golovkin against that better competition. He's a better counter puncher and seems more fluid. Golovkin is a better pressure fighter than Kovalev, but when one guy looks just as good as the other, but is doing so against better fighters, he should be considered better.

Kovalev has a case for #1 p4p right now.

Well, just watching them there is certainly a debate. Golovkin has a better jab, better footwork, and is better setting up his punches. The thing is, he's never done it against the level of competition Kovalev has. Would those skills still look as good against better fighters the way they did with Kovalev?

Until Golovkin shows it, Kovalev should be considered the better fighter IMO.

I think Golovkin is the better fighter of the two but unfortunately for Golovkin he didn't have a Pascal and a Hopkins in his division willing to fight him so that Golovkin could prove it, not yet anyways. It's too bad Sergio Martinez didn't have the courage that Bernard Hopkins had who unlike Sergio actually fought the "Golovkin" of his division in Kovalev, and did so just a few months shy of 50!!! It's a damn shame the middleweight division doesn't have more Bernard Hopkins and less Peter Quillin's (guys who avoid challenges).
It became so hard to dislike Hopkins after that. It was such a ballsy decision and if that doesn't happen, Kovalev never gets Pascal and is probably stuck knocking out nobodies in the time since. It really is a shame no one at MW has given Golovkin that same chance. Hopkins is a ****ing legend.

I guess Kov probably has a better resume but I never see technique when I watch him. Maybe it's because he comes across a bit goofy/doofy. I'd much rather watch GGG fight that's for sure.

Exactly who has he ducked at 160?

                    Try nobody.

That said, the division is thin and two top fighters avoided him. Kovalevs resume beats GGG's.

Unfair resume comparison because it's not like GGG hasn't tried to fight the best.Sturm used the sanctioning body to avoid fighting his mandatory GGG. Pirog fight cancelled because of injury.Martinez wanted cash out fight. Chavez jr because he left Arum. Kid Chocolate because he is with the Haymon protection program. Lee cancelled because of GGGs father passing away. Cotto because all of a sudden he wasnt a middle weight. Jacobs because GGG cant afford to pay me. Mayweather called out by GGG at 154, all of sudden floyd said i never heard of him. Froch all of a sudden retired. Ward was all media hype up because there's no way in hell Andre made 168 at this stage due to age and inactivity.Lara wants GGG but wants a catch weight. Canelo we will see. Saunders said he will be ready for GGG in 18 months. As Samuel Peter would say "who neck!?!"
