At this point I'd be okay if he announced a fight with Porky Medina...he deserves a big fight for the huge favor he did boxing not too long ago. Just get Ward back in the ring and make it against someone with a pulse or any type of momentum whatsoever.

I already fell for the Barrera BS...I'll wait to see who Ward actually signs a contract with before I comment on his opponent selection again.....

The fact that you seem to think that Andre Ward, to simply get guys to fight him, is supposed to be offering up 3 and 4 times career purses for guys to even consider fighting him is ridiculous.
Reality here is that the pressure is on Ward (and HBO) to deliver against a quality opponent in order to build toward the Kovalev clash.

what any other up-and-coming fighter/contender in the LHW previously earned is not relevant here (within reason of course), any manager worth his salt knows they've got leverage in this negotiations.

add to it that third of the top 10 LHW fighter are managed by Al haymon, it doesn't leave you with allot of fighters.

Almost as bad as Brook's last two opponents but not quite that low-level so I suppose it's passable for the time-being seeing as Ward isn't even a title-holder at 175. It's a tune-up / adjustment fight for the 175 division and a stay-busy fight at the same time.
