Andre Ward offers Marco Antonio Periban a HBO-televised fight

Ward is in a catch 22, his high purse demands, won't leave enough for a quality opponent and he's not a big enough name for PPV. He'll have to compromise but his ego won't allow it.
Most of these guys know that they'll lost to ward, so they want to be compensated for it (ala Edwin Rodriguez), no one is going to risk their record for "peanuts".Comment

He was let go by ESPN years ago. He writes for his own website (The Sweet Science) and recently has started adding content to the Ring as well. He posts a lot of random rumors, half of which are not based in truth or reason.
Ward will not fight a guy like Periban, he will fight Barrera or Shabranskyy or another fighter of that caliber (top-15 to 20 fighter with upside, likely undefeated).Comment
