Didn't Kovalev get 500K to fight Hopkins? But people expect Ward's opponents to make more money

It wasn't $300,000
According to Barrera it was just 75 cents:

Why is 300K not enough for Barrera? GGG opponents get paid less than that and he's considered a draw.

That honestly sound like a "fair" deal to anyone here?

So, what exactly has Ward accomplished at 175? Nothing. Shoot, what has he accomplished in the last 2.5 years?

Ward hasn't even fought at 175 (well, technically his 172 CW wasn't exactly within the SMW division) officially. Just because Jay-Z is willing to dump 2 million on a Ward fight doesn't mean a thing besides his promoter has a lot of cash to throw around. Barrera knocked out Murat, another 175 pound boxer, in his last fight while Ward was busy fighting Paul Smith at 172.

Ward just has ONE light heavyweight win, over a bloated super middleweight Paul Smith, who was coming off two losses and appeared to not even train for the fight.
Barrera is a bigger draw in Florida than Ward is in California, because his style is more fan-friendly (Ward has an ugly style, he just grapples, clamps his opponents arms, and head butts).
Ward had to give away ringside tickets for his fight with Smith!!!
