Even if Barrera earns a mando spot vs Adonis or Kov he probably won't make more than 400k tops
    Barrera is already IBF mandatory.

He'll likely receive $500,000 for a fight in Miami against Kovalev with a home crowd behind him, and have a greater possible reward: a shot at THREE world titles. It will be an exciting fight.

Fighting Ward just means for $300,000 he'll be clinched, clamped, grappled and head butted to a UD loss in an ugly fight in Oakland, and it will be career over for him.

add to it that third of the top 10 LHW fighter are managed by Al haymon, it doesn't leave you with allot of fighters.
Minus the Haymon-affiliated fighter, Thomas Oothuizen and Sullivan Barrera (fringe top-25 LHW on BoxRec) are basically the highest rated 175ers available to Ward right now. Not sure what you'd assume was in reason, but the rumored initial offer is likely three times the money of any previous fight purse. How much of a premium is Andre Ward's camp supposed to pay, before justifiably moving on to whomever is willing to step in the ring, regardless of weight they campaign at?

By the time you're starting to look at LHWs rated in the forties, you may as well start looking, top down, at possible fighters coming up from 168.

He's not getting a Kovalev shot anytime soon, Ward will be champ before he gets his shot at the title.

U are acting like thars some forgone conclusion. In reality he's a long way from a Kovalev mando shot. Kovalev aleady looks to have his year completely mapped out. Chances Barrera gets his shot this year are slim. But let's ignore the obvious tho.

            Ward will not be champ.

Ward can't fight Stevenson, because Haymon and Ward's promoter are the worst of enemies.

Kovalev will fight his IBF mandatory Barrera (or hopefully fight Stevenson) in May or June.

Thomas Oosthuizen is with Haymon now.

Highest rated light heavyweights Ward can fight are Shabranskyy, Skoglund, Barrera, Chilemba, Karpency, Mekhontsev, Monaghan or Gonzalez.

Shabranskyy and Gonzalez wanted to fight Ward last fall but were turned down.

                ^^^lol

Kathy Duva is going to pay Barrera $500k, pay Kovalev how much, for a show in Miami... how? Kovalev-Barrera isn't some showdown that HBO is going to throw the money behind, Kovalev has yet to find a market where he sells tickets, and Barrerra doesn't seem to have much of a following either.

Kovalev fought his IBF mandatory his last fight, WBO and WBA come before the IBF's turn. Not going to happen this year. Ward will have beaten Kovalev before Barrera gets a shot.

I find Barrera's tweets more authentic than Lara's.
