Hittin em with the bottom line, good postI like both, but I won't pretend they are something they aren't. Ward IMO could be a great fighter, but what ifs will only get you so far, you gotta fight. GGG could be great as well, but you have to beat somebody. His resume is filled with ok fighters IMO, not all his fault but he had a chance to do something great and didn't.Comment

I really don't get the fascination with this fight. I really don't. Unless its all Ward fans wanting to say "See. We told you." GGG is one of my favorite fighters, and Ward (Super Six era Ward) is one of the better fighters I've ever seen. I remember saying he was the most unbeatable fighter in boxing at the time. But this fight is a mismatch. Outside of just landing some bombs on Ward I don't see any way that Golovkin can win. I think he looks uncomfortable being smothered and pushed backward all night and loses wide. Its very clear GGG's people have ZERO interest in the fight. If they thought it was winnable it would be as big of a statement as he could make. Now Ward vs Kovalev is actually competitive. That is a great fight that could go either way. Id rather see that.Last edited by Motofan; 12-22-2015, 11:59 AM.Comment

I am a fan of both but I can still objectively criticize both and others cant and cant remove their selves from their feelings so when they see you criticize one they automatically tag you as a hater and the rival fan.Comment

I thought Ward won both fights clearly enough that no rematch was warranted. Those were not "hometown decisions" that Ward got. If you disagree, so be it.Rematches clearly were warranted.
Froch improved after losing to Ward and became the No1 SMW in the world. A rematch between he and Andre was without doubt the biggest and best fight to be made at 168 for quite some time.
Kesslar fought Ward in his Andre's home town and lost on cuts caused by head butts. If that wasn't enough reason for Ward to return the favour and fight Kesslar in Denmark, the career highest purse he was offered to do it should have been enough.
I can't see any post by Freedom in this thread, so I don't know what you mean there.Comment

Alright Handbags!
Plenty of fighters use the head. Hopkins, Holyfield and Wlad to name but three. It's up to the ref to catch it. Same with forearms, elbows and clinches.
Blame ****ty refs for not penalizing or dqing them.
As I said, I find GGG a very watchable style boxer.Comment

ward had all his super six fights in his home country(most in his hometown) while froch fought in 4 different countries. you think the ref is going to dq the home fighter....hmmm no i don't. getting the ref you want is all part of the process. ward won that tournament at the negotiating table before it ever started. obviously he still had to use his talent to win but he started with a huge advantage and capitalized on it.Alright Handbags!

yes you can blame the ref but why can't you blame the fighter? the fighter is the one who influences the commisions with their money, and the commision pick the refs and lo and behold its always refs that favor them and let them cheat. shocking! wlad, floyd and ward never get refs that don't let them cheat. what a coincidence. you would think at least once....but nope! its always refs that play ball with them. that's why its always teh same refs over and over. trustworthy guys(in a sense) trustworthy that they will ignore the rules. the commisions need these fights and if they appointed a ref that would punish their cheating guess what would happen? boycott that commision so fast and go somewhere else. aka no money for them. why do you think ward refused to fight outside the country? because he didn't have that control that he wants and needs.Last edited by daggum; 12-22-2015, 03:15 PM.Comment

This is becoming another Mayweather/Pacquiao, but worse become it seems what few irrational voices existed for Mayweather/Pacquiao around here are completely ignored. And it's only going to get worse.
There is no better example of the worst of NSB than threads involving either Ward or Golovkin. The ignorance and ******ity is truly frightening. No one listens to sense, no one listens to reason, facts are completely ignored, and both sides act like 5 year olds. The most ridiculous things you would ever read on this site all occur in Ward/Golovkin threads.
Newsflash to both sides: You are not any better than they are. You sound just as ******.Comment
