IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, who is at the center of controversy over comments about women and *******uals, made an apology at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards in Belfast on Sunday.

Before tennis champion Andy Murray collected the prestigious award, an audience of 7,500 at the SSE arena applauded after world heavyweight champion Fury, 27, one of the 10 short-listed contenders, told them his remarks had been tongue-in-cheek.

Tyson Fury is a bonehead and says a lot of outlandish things. The guy is so unintentionally hilarious.

I bet half of his interviews and speeches will start off with apologies of some kind.

For those who care, the Heavyweight Championship was once held by one of the greatest minds the world has ever known.
The code and witlessness of this moron reminds us of how far removed we have become from such majesty and respect.
Ali utilized his verbal bombast for glory. It's now just a world of glory seekers.

That wasn't too bad. At least he didn't grovel and I believe him when he says that there was no malice in his comments. Won't be enough for some folks, but *** em'.

You know, I'm not that impressed with Fury in the ring, but the way he handles himself vs the media, different story. Props given.

He didn't apologise for the comments.

He said he didn't mean to hurt anyone with his comments.

I laughed out loud reading this, knowing how people raised on TV think I bet you mean Ali

I think you mean "By all other standards he would have been considered an unemployable dunce with anger problems who was brainwashed into joining a cult but he fit the character of a boxer really well"

greatest minds the world has ever known! hahaha! He wasn't even approaching average intelligence. Rare is the pro boxer who is.

Ali was well known to be quite unintelligent (did not graduate high school) and also had very bigoted views and personally insulted Joe Frazier to the point his life was pretty much ruined. Take off the rose tinted glasses please.
