Interesting. I noticed Hearn and Hennessy having a debate on Twitter last night.
Hopefully the fight is on Channel 5.

Team Eubank are released from the Matchroom contract because Eddie lost the purse bid 4 the British Title fight against Blackwell 2 Hennessy
Someone explain this? What does losing the purse bid to that fight have to do with Eubank being released?

        Somewhat strange, but understandable.

Probably channel 5 for his next fight, the question is what happens after that.

I'm assuming Hearn losing that bid to Hennessy didn't sit too well with them.

Not sure how it resulted in this, but perhaps they had terms on the contract that Hearn didn't meet?

Well, Eubank Jr wants to pursue he British title for which this bid was about. The winner of Eubank Jr-O'Sullivan was challenger to Jacobs' WBA Regular, so I believe they wanted to go in different directions.

This is what I make of it.

Well, Eubank Jr became mandatory to Jacobs' "Regular" World title and chasing a British title is a step backwards, but I believe Eubanks want to be 110% once they make that jump to World level. I guess both parties wanted to take different directions.

My understanding is based on what they said at the post fight presser. They were fully expecting a Jacobs-Quillin rematch to take place and in the meantime he wanted to take that opportunity to grab a British title as he couldn't do that once at the world title stage.

Eddie Hearn doesn't seem like the type to just let a fighter leave his stable. I'm just guessing there's something else involved.

Eubanks had a clause in his contract, if a purse bid was lost, he could leave his contract...
