At 160 it would be Floyds best win and would be comparable to some of the greats wins, Floyd so wants to emulate.

Floyd has never beat a middleweight and GGG beats middleweights for fun. Only people who dont think Floyd will gain much are people who dont want Floyd to be great.

But what happens 5 years from now, is a discussion between me and a new boxing fan like this:

PBP: "Floyd is a top 5 ATG, he moved up to MW and beat Gennady Golovkin"

      Spoon2020: ***boxrecs Gennady Golovkin**

Spoon2020: "hahahahahahahahahaha... Gennady Golovkin??? Who did he beat??? His best win was Daniel Geale who got blasted by Miguel Cotto and Darren Barker. Hahahahahahahahahaha"

That's what it will look like 5 years from now.
Too true. Spoon2020 was the icing on the cake.

If it was Floyd that moved up in weight to 160 and he not only beat Golovkin but knocked him out, then yes, it would be very impressive. But the argument against it would always be that GGG didn't have much of a resume, which is a good argument. If he knocked out Canelo and perhaps someone else like Andre Ward or someone, then that would somewhat change, but people would still hold it against him that 99.9% of his foes weren't anything impressive.

It would make for some sweet irony though, considering people accused Floyd of "running" from Pac and other fighters for years, and yet at almost 40 he willingly takes on a knockout artist that most people legitimately are running from, and wins.

It is frustrating when people say GGG hasnt got much of a resume? People are scared to fight him. Floyd has fought many people without much of a resume and past their primes or never was any good in the first place or bloats them up. Theres always a way you can criticise Floyd and it has never bothered him so why start now?
If Floyd can beat the 160 champ it is achieving the impossible almost, forget about the argument of who or who GGG hasnt fought. Thats like trying to change the topic of why Floyd is ducking GGG at 160 and making excuses. If you are concerned about Floyd not getting credit, that is insane. Ask Floyd to fight Kovalev or ward then if credit is really the issue.

Floyd defeated everyone you said he needed to be an ATG. Then you changed you moved the goalpost once he did this. You should have some integrity.

Floyd is an ATG i wouldnt argue that too much. How great does he want to be though is the question?
Is it wrong to suggest who Floyd should fight to make him become greater in peoples eyes? Floyd is at a certain level in the eyes of people and im making suggestions of who he can fight or what he can do to take him to the next level.

He can get no greater. He is 39 years old-his status can not be changed at this point, especially since its well past the retirement age of most pros. There is no next level.

He is a 1st ballot HOF'er, the best of his generation, one of the top fighters of the modern era. Just accept this and move on.

This reply just doesnt make any sense. Floyd is famous for being cautious, methodical and not too proactive. His status can be changed. He is 38 but who's fault is it he waited till that age? He could have fought Sergio Martinez years ago. How old is wlad? How old was jmm when he koed PAC?
If he can beat GGG at 160 its comparable to anything, or rather some of the things srl or rjj did.

                      NO.

Not even close. Beating Bumlovkin wouldn't mean anything and it does nothing for Mayweather's legacy seeing as Bumlovkin is a *nobody*.

Someone please tell me again, exactly WHO has Bumlovkin beaten?
