It depends on how the fans and media react to Floyd winning.

If they throughly continue to believe that GGG is a beast, and don't discredit the win as GGG being old, Green, injured then have at it.

Otherwise, I feel that Floyd must beat Kovalev to be considered Goat.

It'd be a very impressive win, he's almost 40 now, won't weigh more than 155 on fight night, will be the much much smaller guy in the ring against the lineal middleweight beast (at least lineal champ in everyone's eyes regardless of what organizations think), put in prespective that Floyd never weighed in at more than 151 before, and he's gonna still move up yet another weight division to fight the top guy.

What takes away a tiny bit of the credit would be GGG's level of opposition up to this point, If GGG fought Canelo and Floyd fought the winner that would be tremendous, but I don't wanna see Floyd fight again and I'm one of his biggest fans, I don't think he's even 60% of what he used to be and there's no point of not performing at ur best against guys you already beat or would've easily beaten in the past, he doesn't need this and I hope he stays retired.

Of course it would be his best win, otherwise it ewouldnt be worth it.
Its just Floyd is scared to reach greatness and try to do what others befo4 him did.
But even without GGG he has had a career most boxers would be content with . Floyd has his health & zero so is happy and is the only reason why he wouldn't fight ggg

Floyd has already beat many many Manny "future of boxing" guys. GGG is kind of a Oscar De La Hoya fighter; he can hit hard and doesn't move much, but Floyd plays a complately different game.
Plus he's almost 40, fought enough champions and hypes, let that man enjoy it guys. Didn't he prove himself?

Nope. Hype counts for nothing in history, it's all resume and Golokins is garbage.

Nah he's just the next boogieman in line. That's how being at the top works. You beat one great fighter then they find someone new. People are just caught up in the moment at this point in time.

GGG has no notable wins, hasn't made 154 in years and is unproven at the elite level. This fight already has a truck load of potential excuses that will negate the quality of the win.

Nah....Pac will forever have the spot on Floyd's resume....I'm starting to get annoyed by the blatant disrespect cats have been showing Pac lately...picking him to lose to puppies like Crawford....calling Krusher a better fighter, a bunch of other sideways **** and now THIS!!!!...smh....Lil G is a NOBODY compared to Pac...a ****ing NOBODY!!!...now show the ATG a bit more respect....he's on his way out the door and even though his fans are experts at ****ery, I will miss the dude

To add, this win will have BoxRec effect. We're living in the hype right now so we see how GGG is being ****rode by his legion of 97,000 loyalists.

But what happens 5 years from now, is a discussion between me and a new boxing fan like this:

PBP: "Floyd is a top 5 ATG, he moved up to MW and beat Gennady Golovkin"

                      Spoon2020: ***boxrecs Gennady Golovkin**

Spoon2020: "hahahahahahahahahaha... Gennady Golovkin??? Who did he beat??? His best win was Daniel Geale who got blasted by Miguel Cotto and Darren Barker. Hahahahahahahahahaha"

That's what it will look like 5 years from now.
