I think you guys are over reacting. He doesn't like pascal and he's disgusted that he has the nerve to say anything to him. So, he mentioned that he could have ruined him in their fight and that he was fortunate to have it stopped. The real issue is pascal being a big mouth after he got his face bashed in.

I have no problem with it. It's not about needing to be humbled or not. He's in the hurt business and people are going to criticize him? Dude fights for his life everytime he steps in... Many fighters have said that in the heat of the moment theyre trying to kill the other man to keep him from doing the same. Boxing is brutal and truly global. Not everyone is a humble church kid. Why do we act like its weird for him to be so casual? It'd be weird if he wasn't imo. Kovalev is real and you have to kind of admire that he doesnt shy away for the camera. Dude keeps it 100% and it's too much for some? Lol. This is what makes boxing great. "Good" or "bad" it doesn't matter in the ring where all is equal. Kovalev is a street guy who can fight and doesnt fake it for the cameras. He's a real fighter. It used to be that guys would say s hit like this all the time and didnt prance around to be politically correct. Kov is old school

The statement I have wrapped as a quote is from the press conference after their first fight. Many guys talk **** before and after the fight. That's how you sell fights. Lord knows if it were left up to Kovalev's personality & Main Events to sell a fight they'd be fighting in front of 3,000 people in Vegas. Just because a fighter is talking **** that's a ****ty reason to want to kill him.

Kovalev should be a little more humbled...

Now I'm a fan of Kovalev's style, aggressive and relentless but for an individual who has taken someone's life in the ring he should have a more humbled outlook on the sport. Nigel Benn as said before, was haunted by what occurred against McClellan. Griffith was never the same after Parot, fearing what what could occur. Both story's well documented. It also goes for many other ATGs from the past.

I'm hoping it's his bad sarcasm but he should know better than what is probable to happen in the ring. One of my favorite quotes from A boxer was from Smokin' Joe Frazier saying "Boxing is the only sport you can get your brain shook, your money took, and you name in the undertaker book"......... That is the best description of boxing, and sadly true.
