For sure. I've always wondered what would take Ward to the next level of stardom. Actually I was wondering that 4 years ago when he won the Super Six. But now I think it could be Kovalev.

Kovalev is a hugely entertaining fighter, but he is also cast as a stereotypically evil Russian. The perfect bad guy for a god fearing All-American like Ward. Tough fight for Ward to win of course, but it could be huge for him if he does it.

He is not the first boxer to kill a man in the ring, if he were to let it hang around his neck it would probably ruin him. Benn was pretty much destroyed mentally by the McClellan fight, that isn't better.

This likely stems from the face-off scuffle they had before their fight. Pascal got in Kovalev's face. Kovalev looked down & backed up, but Pascal advanced, which caused the bill of Kov's cap to touch Pascal's face. Rather than step back, Pascal tried to take Kovalev's cap off, resulting in a shoving match There's no love lost between these two.
