That's why I don't think he will knock out Ward if they fight, and that's if Kovalev can get past Pascal or even Stevenson.
Pascal would need more than defense - he barely won a round, and it's arguable that he won any at all.

A level fighters tend to push anyone. Ward also isn't as defensively sound as Hopkins.

Also, with Kovalev, always consider his background, where he came from, and that his first language isn't English.
Exactly. I don't see how it could be seen any other way, but obviously people are still terrified of the USSR and think Sergey wants to kill North America and the people within.

Are you kidding me? Pascal's never been knocked down let alone KO'd in his career before Kovalev.

Ward's chin is not even remotely is as good as Pascal's.

The impression I get is that Kovalev doesn't consider 2011 to be his fault and that he feels that the referee in that fight should have stopped it sooner.

Ergo, Pascal should be grateful that the referee did his job instead of complaining. He has a point, Kovalev was hammering him repeatedly before Pabon stepped in.

Kovalev isn't arrogant imo, he never makes predictions and says anything can happen in the ring. He knows himself what it is to be knocked out.

It took 8 rounds finally for the referee to stop the fight, you would think with the type of punches Kovalev was landing Pascal would go down in 5 rounds. And Pascal was almost knocked out against Chad Dawson in a fight where he was ahead in the score cards, his defense is definitely leaky. If you look Kovalev's resume his best wins are Pascal and Hopkins. The rest are C and D level boxers.

Ward's chin isn't bad at all, went 12 rounds against Carl Froch fighting at his own game, even took punches from Abraham without getting fazed although he wasn't hit that much. Ward is tougher than a lot of people give credit for. If they do fight, and that's a if because reportedly Kovalev will fight Stevenson if he gets by Pascal, I don't think Ward will simply go down easily. I expect Ward to take Kovalev's power quite well, as long as he doesn't get hit that much. There is a difference between Ward and someone like Nathan Cleverly.

Kovolov is a true warrior. How easily he talks about killing people is kind of sick, but at least he's not going into the ring and running like 90% of black fighters do today.

Yea, I thought that a bit tasteless. Wonder what he said to his manager when Agnew was brought up too.

Ward needs to get back in the ring and this fight needs to happen ASAP!

Kovalev is a monster because he's being real. People fake the tough guy act. This guy is the real deal. He WANTS to punish you. He WANTS to end your career. All this from a man who has already killed another man in the ring. He's a bad, bad man.
