I don't think people are "overreacting" per se, it's a sensitive subject and he sounds too casual about it, but you're essentially right. He doesn't like Pascal, this isn't how he thinks versus every fighter, in fact, he's usually very composed and sometimes too reserved...inside the ring he's a ****er that's very content with waiting for the right moment to be offensive. He's not talking like a killer before every fight and then fighting like Maidana. Pascal has clearly gotten under his skin.
Check out this Kovalev video. What are your thoughts?

Can't wait for Ward to get a taste of the "Krusher". Should be very entertainingAt the 1:10 mark a reporter said: In the first Pascal fight you complained about the stoppage.
3/14/15
Kovalev responds that Pascal should thank the ref, he saved his life.
At the 2:00 mark he responds to the question if Pascal's last fight take a lot out of him
Kovalev says usually fighters who fight him disappear. He names off Sillah, Caparello, Cleverly, Agnew. When he says Agnew he looks at his manager and said something in Russian while laughing (?) He goes on to say he didn't finish his job in the last Pascal fight because the ref saved Pascal's health (life). Then he goes on to say that Pascal took hard punches the whole fight and the accumulation of punches could have killed Pascal like his fight in 2011 (Simakov).

Trainer Robert Garcia said in a recent video, when Kovalev visited his gym, "he is plain scary both in and out of the ring". First man he says he is truly "terrified of". That is coming from a noted tough guy.Comment
