it is more to it i almost sympathize with these guys..if they lose 1 fight they get called bums and ppl never want to see them again.. this isnt a lebron nba type game where u can lose the finals 4 times and still get a lifetime nike deal..see how it really isnt fair for them

if u lose once no one will buy you as a ppv opponent or headliner..everyone calls u a bum...even after u win another big fight they go back and talk about your loss even if u improve..

almost cant blame the fighter for not want to take test when the can make millions fightin almost guaranteed wins

Thats true also but all but that was a different time. With Floyd protecting his 0 and labeling someone as a who after they lose, put that same concept into peoples minds.

That's pure BS. MULTIPLE haymon fighters have said these same comments that haymon picks their fights Not them. Thurman said I usually get passed a list of 3 names and I have to pick one but for my last fight I got only one name on the list collazo so I had to fight him. Thats what he said to defend himself against the media who killed him for that mismatch fight. You really think Thurman wants to fight guys like that? You think Danny is picking guys like gurrero? i think u missed my earlier post...i said today a loss is a career ender....but i do agree with your post i like the gatti era better btw but even boardwalk hall is a deadsite now..boxing has just changed

Yeah but this is true of all sports. Boxing, at the top end where Garcia is comfortably sat is well compensated these days if you look at the money side of things alone. Even if you factor in risk it is. Which is more risky boxing or being a jet pilot or a grunt?

The trouble is most of these guys act like $5 million is nothing. If you or me or virtually every other NSB poster had $5 million in the bank by the time we are mid thirties then we'd be set up for life. Shit - $500,000 would do it for me. But nooooh - these greedy gits need $25-30 million in the bank.

LOL I don't disagree with much of what you are saying here & I've openly praised Maidana, first for taking time off to enjoy life after having made so much money in about a 12 month period & now for seemingly calling it a career after having been set up for life with those paydays.

I'm often shocked guys like Klitschko, Mayweather & Pacquiao don't retire sooner with all those $15M+ paydays they had (well before the crazy 9 digit payday Floyd & Manny had in May). Even with state & federal taxes, manager & trainers cuts & anything unforeseen that needs to come out before that money enters their bank account you would think they would have enough for most guys to retire sooner & quit boxing. I'd assume they have a whole lot more going on their head (competitive/legacy stuff, keeping up with all your rich friends stuff, being worried that you can't go back as easy once you are outta the game, etc & so on) at that point than your or mine or Maidana's outlook that this $5M+ is enough to do us good.

A fighter loses once and they are hype, bum, never that good, and the "hardcore fans" are done with them.

Watched UFC over weekend and the fight party was happening!! And some of those guys have 8 loses but still got love. No way will boxing fans ever accept that.

Sadly Garcia speaks the truth and some will blame PBC/Haymon/Mayweather but its the fans
