As long as the cards are in GGG's favor he will do what benefits him most, like everyone else.

The articles in my post you're replying to states there was a verbal contract. If there was no verbal contract why are they even negotiating in the first place? If there was no verbal agreement GBP/Canelo wouldn't be negotiating with GGG to step aside once again. Don't try to change the facts.
they(gbp) did not negotiate before, they are doing it now cuz canelo is the champion and ggg is his mandatory, now...
and by the way chris mannix can post whatever he wants on twitter, that doesnt make it a verbal contract... none of the other links show anything above a verbal contract, will you post the actual info, or are you just making schitt up?...

Even Big Dunn tries to claim ggg is paper champ in WBA because he was elevated to super champ. What he forgets is that ggg won the EXACT same belt jacobs has around his waist, and the wba only elevated ggg so they could sell the regular belt to someone else. Dunn even said in a thread something to the effect of "too bad ggg didnt win his belt in the ring like jacobs did" lol haha idiots
I've never once called or implied GGG was a paper champ. I posted he didn't win his title in the ring, he was elevated to champ. Is that INCORRECT?

You and the truth should finally meet sometime and get to know each other.

You just repeated what I said. The reason they're negotiating is because the winner had a verbal agreement to face GGG next. The fight wouldn't have happened if not for that agreement. That was promised to GGG (and the step-aside fee from Cotto) in order for him to allow the fight to happen. GGG allowed that fight to be for the MW championship because he was promised the winner would fight him next or vacate the belt, unless they can come to an agreement.

yes, that is incorrect. He knocked out Nilson Tapia for the vacant WBA regular belt. The EXACT SAME BELT that Jacobs won vs Fletcher (also vacant)

There is no difference in how each became WBA champ. The only difference at all is that the WBA then elevate ggg to "super" champ. And if they hadnt, Jacobs wouldnt be champ now

lol, is like the boxing world revolves around ggg... GGG had a verbal agreement from cotto(not canelo) in order to allow cotto to put the title at stake for that fight, the fight was going to happen with or without the title, both cotto and canelo are bigger than a title... canelo did not made ggg any promises, it was the wbc...

                • So, they're going to let defend it at whatever weight he wants?

it doesnt matter who made who promises. The ONLY thing that matters right now is that the WBC is telling Canelo to either fight GGG next or make a step-aside deal. Nothing else matters......

You sure? Didn't he win a vacant interim title the fight before Tapia then was promoted to regular champ. Tapia was his 1st "defense".
