Thurman Is Still Healing From That Collazo Body Shot He Grimaced From

So I'm checked out on Thurman. Just unprofessional, real weasel-mode on his part AND/OR Haymon's part. Thurman always quick to give an interview, profile at all the fights from the crowd for cameras, when he's about to fight a tomato can, or a washed up Guerrero. But go face to face with Porter, throw around, "I'm game, lets do this, it's inevitable", now go run, hide, hear crickets from the Thurman camp when it's a legitimate threat, no respect for this protected fool. Typical Haymon fighter....

Any guesses on why Thurman is hiding?

I don't think anyone is really suprised here. We knew when Guerrero was beating the shit out of run time in the 12th that he would cower away from competing at the elite level. Then against a fringe collazo that body shot had thurman realizing he needed to take time off. Enough time off to warrant a "tune up" with Rod Salka. Haymon told Keith to grow a pair and that it was time to step up and fight a real fighter. He offered him crazy money. Thurman's cowardice is just too deeply woven into his make up. He is afraid. Hoping for the likes of Berto or Algieri. He does not want a prime time fighter in front of him.

Who will be Keith Thurman's next opponent? Will it be Chris Algieri, Andre Berto, Devon Alexander or Rod Salka?

Thurman likes to fight guys who recently lost to top level competition, so these are his most likely choices. I doubt it will be Berto or Alexander because Berto and Alexander still have enough skill to beat Thurman. Therefore, it will either be Algieri or Salka.

Then again, he may take the Canelo Alvarez approach and fight some former great who is over the hill. If that is the case, Thurman's next opponent will be none other than .......Shane Mosley!

Disappointed in Thurman, i actually thought he was a fighter wanting to fight the top and he still hasn't really stepped up.

Where is he anyway? It's like he's disappeared. He used to always be at boxing events being interviewed. I was starting to forget he existed.

Haymon is the puppet master and thurman is just another one of his puppets. Thurman doesn't strike me as a fighter who would duck out of a big fight like this. My guess is that Haymon wants to continue his trend of having his marketable fighters fight lesser fighters so that he keeps them marketable. I don't see anything in porter that Keith needs to be afraid of. He's an aggressive fighter but he's wild and sloppy.

A lot of people on NSB are going to look like ****ing idiots when this fight is announced. For whatever reason this site decided last year that Thurman is a coward and a ducker and they love to shout it at every opportunity. Even people who love to go in other threads talking about "Why don't you wait and see, you don't know if he's ducking" about other fighters. They say Thurman is running and a ducker with absolutely no basis to say it.

Seriously, people have turned on Thurman for no reason at all. It's like he falls in this no man's land between the ones who hate on every puncher and the fans who hate on Haymon fighters, so no one likes him.
