Haymon is the puppet master and thurman is just another one of his puppets. Thurman doesn't strike me as a fighter who would duck out of a big fight like this. My guess is that Haymon wants to continue his trend of having his marketable fighters fight lesser fighters so that he keeps them marketable. I don't see anything in porter that Keith needs to be afraid of. He's an aggressive fighter but he's wild and sloppy.
I don't even think he's ducking Porter. I see Haymon's web of protection wrapped all over Thurman here. Haymon clearly have someone else in mind for One Time, and Thurman happens to agree. That "someone else" is the big question mark.
